Bizarrely I wouldn't consider spending my own money on something with a lot of miles as a daily, but then my company Accord has done nigh-on 145k and is still on the original clutch, battery, exhaust etc and still feels strong. It could eventually be a good buy for someone, but at 10 years old it's always in the back of my mind that if the DMF or something like that does go, then it's probably more than the car's worth. It's a good car but, as a couple of others have said, the rest of it has done the mileage too. The interior is great and the body very tidy, but I'm sure it clunks a bit more than it used to. The VAG thing I don't get, prior to the Accord I had a 53-plate Passat TDI Sport. Absolutely cracking car and a great drive, but it needed a fair few bits before it was sold on at 144k, most notably a gearbox rebuild at 98k that along with a clutch and DMF came to the thick end of £2k. That was from a local garage too, VW wanted close to £3k... If you're not doing daft mileage and with only £2k to spend, I'd be tempted to ditch the diesel idea and go for a reasonably economical petrol instead. It'll probably have less miles and should be cheaper to maintain. That said, the engine in my Metro Turbo has only done 69k. At the moment I'm trying to pluck up the courage to risk it further than round the block...

I was going to take this too off of tmf then it sold! So how comes the higher price, will it be tidied up ect ? Afraid the higher price is probably down to the seller being able to price his car at what he wants. If that means making a profit, where's the harm. No one's forcing anyone to buy it.

Hopefully these couple of pics will work... sorry, not really around Chipping Norton way. Closest I get is going through Burford on the way from Gloucester to High Wycombe when I see my folks.

Yep, I can try and get some pics. They're five-stud and just the factory 10-spoke jobs from an E36, nothing fancy. Will have a look on the back and see if there's any sign of the offset.

Evening all,
I've a set of 4 BMW E36 3-series factory fit Style 27 (I think that's the model) alloy wheels and tyres. They're 10-spoke anyway.
7x15 inch, reasonable condition. Tyres are all worn but maybe okay for skids, although I think one has a slight bulge. Can't remember but I think the centres might be there too.
Collection from Gloucester (GL4) or might be able to get them between there and Bidford-upon-Avon (B504JS) without too much hassle eg Evesham, Ashchurch etc.
£30.

Picking up a set this weekend hopefully. 7x15 factory alloys for an E 36 (think they're the 8-spoke ones). Two tyres apparently have 3-4mm and the other two need replacing. £30 would be fine but I'm in Gloucester... Still, you could always scrap them for the same money after you're done with them.

Remembered last night that I've still got all the above aside from the Haynes book...
£20 takes the lot and I'll post it second class for that too.

308 GTS for the looks and the sound.
Hired a 328 GTS when I got married. Clutch nearly broke my leg and not the nicest to drive in traffic, but the sound and how it went I'll never forget. Quite a confidence builder too as it felt really surefooted. Had the full-on white ribbon on it and managed to snap it on the way to the venue after getting a little enthusiastic with the mph and acceleration. I had a BMW Mini at the time and nearly put my foot through the floor when I got back in and put the clutch in for the first time.

Hi all,
Looking to change my wife's car and have found the specific model we're looking for at Powerlease Car Sales in Bedfordshire at a very attractive price.
Before we trek all that way and have the hassle of taking two young children and keeping them amused (this is more of a problem than any distance) while the salesman is doing his usual long-winded pitch, has anyone any experience of their service/how their cars are prepared.
While I don't expect a three-year old car to be showroom fresh, getting a bit tired of dealers (even main ones) describing cars in fantastic condition when they're clearly not and having driven 100 miles plus for nothing.

Not much to compare it to really, but judging from the description I can't see it being more than a couple of hundred.
