great car love the wheel/tyre combo Having owned a Turbo coupe I'm not sure they actually did much development! Most of it must have been trying to shoehorn the engine into the bay! Tiny brakes, weak diff (Why not use the stronger one in the 600/800?) and the good old plastic cages bearings in the gearbox. Spent many thousands trying to improve mine when I was 18/19. Which I kept it now though This was the original development car for the race car series rather than the road cars

Lovely little Alfa, Ive had such an itch for another retro Italian recently. I got to drive one of these about a bit in Germany but it was breathed on a little, great fun.

As soon as we arrived to our trackday on Monday we knew this Imp might be pretty special. Sat in the paddock on Avon slicks awaiting a dry line with water beading down its 50+ year old bodywork.
Built and raced in period by one of the most famous Imp tuners on the planet, Team Hartwell and raced by an equally famous driver of his time Ray Payne. This little weapon started off racing back in 1967 with an 850cc lump. The car took the BARC saloon championship with ten 1st's, one 2nd place and no less than 9 lap records. the car raced often at Castle Combe int he 60's and 70's.
Peter stride is now custodian of this lovely british pocket rocket and its great to see that its still used as intended. Peter raced the car back in the80's & 90's in blue and white but has since returned it to Hartwell colours. We are hoping to see this again at one of our retro trackdays in 2021. We should have a video to show you by the end of the weekend

“Rover” and “cool” don’t usually go in the same sentence, However this Prebble owned Rover 220 Tomcat is a little different. 1993 Saw Rover ick off a single make series for these Coupe Turbo cars and this particular car was the development car for that series. Its been in the family for many many years and the guys reckon it hadn’t been out in maybe 10 years since it last raced in the Castle Combe GT Championship. It only has 915 miles on the clock which is all track work but has has some changes since Rover had hold of it.
On Monday it had some issues with a lower wishbone breaking and Gary ate a driveshaft we think. From memory this car used to push close to 600BHP through its Dunlop slicks but we are sure the boys will correct us if we are wrong. So a pretty special car in terms of the history of club racing in the UK.

From a sorry old project stored in a garage yard for 12 years with a 2.2 engine To a very capable race car achieving class podiums in its first race weekend fitted with a 1.8
