Nice colour, its good to see more 924s cropping up on here. Such an underrated car (although this seems to have stated to change!)
don't worry about the lack of power steering, once youve driven it a few times you don't even notice.

Lovely car and seems very to be good work you've done. BUT, the owner should be shot for letting it get that far!

I may be biased ( ) but Porsche 924S? Falls into the budget and very comfortable on long journeys.

Thanks for the reponses guys.
Would of helped if I said it was for my 924S. Want the fabric centers doing.
Was told to avoid dylon as it doesnt really "stick" to car fabrics.
The VHT only seems to be for carpets and vinals.
I did find a spray in the US but that appears to be waterbased (Get sweaty, dye your clothes to?)

Bring at old thread from the dead day!
Cars still working and sat on my drive. Its cost a small fortune as its had a Front of engine service, new rad pump, center box, fuel filter, fuel tank fixed (leaked) discs and pads, brake lines and battery tray welded. The windows packed up and took me an age to find the fault (relay hidden deep in the dash)
So to make me feel better I added some Mk2 Golf crystal headlights as the originals had become small fish tanks. They really suit the car suprisingly.
Also fitted some 195/55/15 on the front in preperation of lowering her, and kept the 195/65/15 on the rear for a slight hot rod look.
Most resently got her lowered by Paul at Coltech Classics, based in Poole (awsome bloke!). 1.5 coil chop on the front and rejigged the rear to match. This equated to a 30ish mm drop all round. With the lower profile fronts it equates to about 55mm/30mm.
Now on the look out for a 80s chin spoiler for her...
Sorry to bore anyone who could be bothered to read this drivval!

Lets play devils advocate...
If the buyer had the cash to pay for the car with a cheque why did he not simply withdraw said cash from the bank (under 10k limit per day)?
If I understand it correctly your friend has let the car go but still has the V5C, so? The car could have cloned plates by now or running up speeding tickets. For the latter, whilst under his name he's still liable.
As for the cheque its self: All banks have a clearing cycle, this is variable depending on the bank but normally 3 days to show on the account 10 days to clear (Ie yours)
Bottom line, if you sell a car privately only take cash or a bankers draft...
I wish your friend well and good luck.

Looking good. With the engine work and lightening, it would be interesting to see what performance is like against an "S".
Planning on lowering it?

Seen your 'rado in Soton a couple of times, so will keep an eye out for this to.
As for the brakes, change the fluid to 551. Did wonders for my Arosa track car.
