Nice little rustbuckets these alfa's.
My father restores mostly Mercedes sl models for a living. His boss had one come in for some smaller rust patches on his 300 sl gullwing. Ended up as a 100k€ total restauration. Filler everywhere. Big dent on the corner of the roof where they just drilled holes for the filler to hold... American restoration work is not always done to a good standard...

Many newer beemer manual boxes are also atf filled from the factory...
We used a getrag 265 with atf behind a 400bhp+ 800nm+ engine... Lasted at least 20.000 km of hard abuse until now. Now it's reduced to only fourth gear so it needs some tlc.
I think i saw more veyron's this year then i saw ritmo's.

You should probably put the hp filter after the hp pump. Now the pump has to suck hard to pull the fuel through the filter and the pump is not built to do that.on most om set ups the filter is in the hp line between pump and injectorrail.
Placing the regulator under the bonnet reduces the length of the high pressurized lines by half. Less prone to leaks and safer.

Nice one! My friend has a vw jetta we converted to rwd and an om606 with 8mm pump. Also very confusing for owners of supposed 'super cars'. Your benz is even more of a sleeper.

Nice one! Not the average choice of car for a 14 year old.
Most of these cars went to Africa where they were wanted. In Holland they're quite rare now.
Rear suspension arms tend to rot quite hard..
I had the little sister, a 305, for a while. Styling is to my taste and being rear wheel drive a 505 would probably be a keeper.

My friend owns two of those. One has an Opel omega c30ne engine and auto gearbox in it.sure made it a lot faster compared to the original 2.0 petrol engine.
Other one will receive a Mercedes om606 diesel engine and auto gearbox. Should be a nice ride also.
Vw lt engines were not that good we were told. That's why we didn't even consider putting one of those in.

Audi gearbox and Volvo rear axle gives you a lot of speed and gears going backwards...
Outgoing flange on the box is on the secondary axle and spins the opposite direction as with 'normal' rwd gearbox.
Friend had the same problem... Quite a surprise hé had at the first test drive.
