Stunning work on all fronts Chris, really coming together now. Not quite on the same scale, but I'm in the same situation at the moment knocking our kitchen and dining room into one, albeit our place dates from c1900 - still solid 9" thick walls though! Lots of 'findings' everyday at the moment and trying to appease the boss! How it was: Once opened up: Some of the many 'delights' buried, although I should be grateful, a lot were just encased in plaster! The long since hidden original fireplace: One thing I've got to ask - how come you ran the cables shown below diagonally? I've always been told it's something you should never do so for my own sanity was there a reason

If it's the trackday I'm thinking off I wanted to come up to that with 'that' Bentley but the aforementioned BMW ^^^ was throwing it's toys at that point in time.
Sounds like great fun was had by all.

One of my old track cars, I like to think under my ownership it turned from ugly duckling into beautiful swan. The aim was to recreate an American spec M3 GT Lightweight. I think it came off rather well I did a few trackdays with it and wanted to enter a race series but in typical fashion there was always something else going on so I sold it... and then it turned up on Petrolicious earlier in the year, which made me wish I'd kept it - b*gger! petrolicious.com/articles/what-is-the-ultimate-ring-tool-bmw-m3-or-porsche-911The funny thing is that it's only a lowly 320i... albeit with 6 pots not 4. Fresh from when I had just finished building it:
Still miss it.

I thought I had a spare one of these I am unlikely to use but on checking all I seem to have are the push-fit variety... seemingly 3 of the b*ggers as well!

Gutted I can't make it this year, was supposed to be going today but the day job decided otherwise and I need to get on with the house renovations over the weekend. Plenty of pics and updates please gents (yes I know that will rub it in even more!)

Absolutely brilliant... so much so I'm off to relieve my 18 month old nephew of his little tikes car and build a similar version. He'll stop crying and thank me for it some day I'm sure

Is that the same Theo from Practical classics? Had a lovely chat with him at the NEC one year...
Anyway.. As other have said, fantastic work and true dedication.

What's this... an update before the weekend?! In truth it's a tenuous update but without car progress, instead it's down to a little mention of this thread in the latest episode of SOUP, a series I've previously mentioned, created and put together by the very talented George Karellas. I won't say too much more about the why and the how other than to say check it out for yourselves. Nice little plug for Retro Rides too If you like what you see, subscribe and support him if you can. More on the Celica soon.

Wow, only just had chance to sit and properly watch the latest episode. Seems I'm a lucky boy - thank you George! As has already been mentioned by Fossilfish, please subscribe and if you can support George in his endeavours even better.

As above, it will fit but only give limited options with regards to brake size etc. I may have a spare set lying about. However... Your best bet (if you can find some) is to go down the AE86 route. However they are hard to get and with the AE86 following there is I hate to say a bit of 'scene tax'. I've yet to find a decent set for reasonable money but not looked overly hard if I'm honest. Another alternative, albeit a rather costly one, is to go for something like the solutions from Techno Toy Tuning in the states which you may have already come across. I'd love to do this but need to save some pennies first! If you're stuck for more options, drop me a PM and I'll send you a list of the main suppliers and some other forums to research on In terms of bushings, if you want OEM my first call would be to Geoff at Platinum Toyota in Bath (01225 486222), he's used to dealing with us older Toyota owners and knows his stuff - well worth a call. I'm probably going to go down the SuperPro route for my TA22, you can get a full set seemingly so makes sense to just change the lot. (Edited to add: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162708727569) Hope that is of some use. Feel free to shout if you need any further info... I'm 2 years in to my rebuild etc and patience is definitely needed when parts hunting for these.

Only advice would be to keep in close comms with the PO, in my experience of a similar situation the only way is to be patient and work with the same logic as those at the DVLA - slowly and simply!
Best of luck

Bit late to the party but now bookmarked... looking forward to this one. It's like watching an episode of the A-Team while they construct something out of nothing using some very conveniently placed welding equipment and machinery while trapped in a mine. ...ok, ok so it's nothing like that but mesmerising nonetheless. Carry on

I've been looking for a while but am nearer Tonbridge than Ashford. Pluckley would be a bit of a trek sadly.
Found a couple of places near to Tunbridge Wells if of interest to anyone?
