Good to see progress on this once again Adam. Interesting what you've found re the polybushes, I've had the same on mine, except they lasted as long as the dry build of the front crossmember, just disintegrated  . So replacements need to be ordered but I might look at alternative options to the usual culprits. |

I'm certainly hoping so... MonzaPhil I have a RR camping & entry ticket for both the weekender and gathering. I've emailed the powers that be to try and to get it unpicked so that one portion can be made available to someone able to attend the weekender. We can make it work. Need to do it for someone else anyway. Lovely, sorry to see you're having to sell Ian Sam, thanks for the kind words but it's not have to, it's just prudent to do so. I've got too many toys and not enough garage space. With the Raid Dolly sold and this one going I'll have enough room for the Turbine and get the Healey out of the Volcano Lair and back to the house so I can drive it during the summer. Nice fabrication work, looking forward to seeing how it all goes, What about the "drunken purchase" ?? 😁😁 Nigel Which one? Exhibit a)  or b)*  *technically I wasn't drunk for this one but may as well have been for agreeing to take it away at the time. Came as a kit and in need of a chassis which I have now managed to get hold of. It's joined the back of the 'queue'. Former is still ticking along nicely, I've a minor niggle to sort with the roof and then I will be moving it on as need some space for another project returning, although strictly speaking it's not mine. Merc is a delightful summer cruiser though and I really wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I have. |

Been a while... Seeing as I've finally got near the thing for the first time since moving 2 years ago for one reason or another, I thought a long overdue update was required Few more hard to find replacement parts have appeared, including the elusive wheel well to sort this mess out:   I've also started fabricating bits ready to do battle with the next round of repairs, starting with the N/S front wing rail and a spot of CAD   Before transferring to metal and then fettling as required      No idea why the pics have come through in a random order but you get the idea. Nice to be back on it. |

You mentioned the prospect of moving last year when I collected that folder from you, but you’d not decided on location at that time. Whereabouts have you ended up? Hi Glen Yes, we were still searching from what I recall. Think of it this way, whenever you see these property programmes on TV they have 1 or 2 sensible options and then a wildcard... yup you guessed it, we went for the latter. Other half was working locally to here that weekend and did the usual 'wonder what's available' search and came across this place previously owned by a car restorer for 32 years. She hastily arranged a viewing, I then got an excited phone call afterwards, so arranged a second viewing so I could see it, and after a few twists and turns due to COVID etc. we managed to get it in Dec and the rest is history. Decent sized house, large enough garden, but the real kicker was lots and lots of man cave/storage/garaging/workshop space, plus a spray booth. So to answer your question, that's how I now find myself living in Norfolk Before anyone says it, yes it's all very well having the space but you will fill it, I agree. A drunken vehicle purchase (long story) has already been made and might be making an appearance this coming weekend  |
