OK so like a complete idiot I connected a battery to my mini cooper s as it was flat and managed to mix the leads up. Cue sparks and such for a few seconds.
Car will start and run but get odd behaviour from dash warning lights.
Take it from idle and the battery warning light comes on then others such as abs traction control light up but then go out when engine speed returns to idle.
Am going to swap the flat battery for a good un - which is all I wanted to due 😣 but could not open the boot to change it - and see if this helps as it may of not liked being connected the wrong way round and I suppose voltage issues could cause the strange behaviour.
Yes I know I'm a complete idiot
Any thoughts?

Decent impact socket that is a bit small for the centre stub and hammer it on with a good lump hammer. Then I used a breaker bar and ta da locking nut removed. Used to work as a tyre fitter and never found on this didn't work on. Some had a rotating sleeve but this was easily removed with a sharp chisel.

Are you still running the original 2.8 inlet manifold? As these were fitted with a restrictive manifold from the 320 /520 engine for German tax purposes. A change to the inlet from a e34 525 gives a useful power boost a e34 525 was rated the same hp as 528.

Hi I've got its bigger brother lol, 7.5t MAN truck, same cab but bigger running gear... Comes with a 6.9 na diesel with a wopping 150 bhp lol. And a guess which gear box, reverse gate 5 speed that you don't have a clue what it's in as the stick sits in the same place and 1St is pretty much useless accept for pulling away on hills - very low and non synchro so need to be stationary to engage. So you use it as a 4spd.

I was concerned about the emissions test as they are different tests for different fuel types?

Hi guys. Hopefully these a mot tester or two or some one in the know on here who can enlighten me.
I have been working on a series 2a landrover,1969 vintage. It's been off the road since 2007 I believe. The work involved a conversion from 2.25 petrol to 200tdi diesel, welding repairs and general getting ready for mot. What I want to know is what will happen when it's goes for mot, will there be a problem with the engine change as it won't match the dvla date yet. Do I need to get this updated before taking for a mot?
As a second issue it is due to move from Staffordshire to south Wales by the end of the month and would be helpful if it could do so under own steam but if the data needs updating for the mot then I suppose it's best to move it and register it at the new address first?
A lot to ponder for me so looking for some advice please

Good job there, that pin had snapped on ours, must be a common thing. Ours is fixed and back in service, just got a collapsed king pin bearing to sort out at some point lol.

Lol from that distance it does look rust free, it isn't though. Used to be a council tractor before a farm machine. The steering ram has an allergy to oil, doesn't like it in it lol. Having use the big un as it ain't working Much more of a pain without a loader, just a rear spike Used it to take a round bale upto the horses.

Liking this, currently helping the girlfriends dad fix the steering ram on his 575. They are fun to drive with loader and round bales spike front and rear lol. Quickphot [/URL]
