Had the same issue with the last project, freshly rebuild auto box went into gear while in Park. Lucky for me it was on axle stands when it did so or would have gone into the end of the shop with dire results.
No more auto boxes for me.

Been a lot of fun so far.
The EFI went in the garbage, wont work with the Ford AOD gearbox The rear axle went in the garbage. Too much wrong with the diff, the housing was bent and the axles were wrong lenght. ALL the fancy new wiring had to come out. Just scary The vacuum pump is in the scrap heap The back frame crossmember fell out when we tugged on the trailer hitch.Seriously. The (new) fuel tank weeps fuel and does not bolt in place Front suspension is assembled incorrectly
Hopefully getting close to the end of the WTF list. A LOT of time has been spent just investigating what is here and if it can stay and play long term.

Not that it does not produce vacuum, it is more matter of a flathead does not have a lot of plenum volume to store vacuum.

The otherwise beautiful flathead engine is the poison pill in this recipe. The problem is that the designer picked a classic engine and then decided that he also wanted all the amenities of a new car.
The engine is saddled with EFI that will run the engine but not the AOD;: No rational way to connect a TV cable to the AOD and getting it wrong will kill the AOD
The engine will not produce enough vacuum ( volume wise) to keep the brake booster working
The AOD with the big overdrive will make the low vacuum thing even worse going to need a vacuum pump of some sort
They chose to have AC and power steering; both energy consuming devices that wont look good stuck on the engine, add the vacuum pump and its starting to look busy on the front end.
There are some really nice parts on this truck, just that they were not meant to play well together.

If you look at the engine bay pic, there are 6 fatal flaws to the project that need to be overcome and would have dictated an entirely different path for this build.
Anyone care to take a guess? Since you cant see then, I will toss out power steering and the AOD gearbox.

This beauty has come to roost in my shop to overwinter. As is, it is a collection of good intentions gone wrong travelling in close formation. The goal is to harmonise the parts as best possible and drive it out when the snow melts.

Was thinking maybe you dropped out of sight so you could paint the car and present the final results as a big reveal.

Always amazes me when I put a windscreen in a car. The transformation from mechanical thing I work on to "CAR" is instant. Also crosses a psychological milestone.

What is the gray that I see on the panels? Primer. Not having done body and paint on a composite body, was wondering what kind of primer you would put on carbon? Is this a epoxy that you will build upon with a high fill or is it the high fill itself or some special formulation for composite adhesion? If proprietary information, please disregard.

Hope you have better luck with the Fitech than I did. Mine is going in the Bin. It had moments of brilliance, but never ran the same twice. Even if I could get it to run right, I can't see where I would ever venture outside of the towing allowance distance with the thing. EFI should be like breathing, not something you are continually conscious about when driving.
Some things I learned: Check that front and rear throttle plates open at the same time Power and ground direct from the battery. Do not try to use the supplied temp transducer, known to be bad from the factory even today Weld the O2 bung into the exhaust, don't use the clamp-on kit supplied Keep an eye on the injectors, they fail often and fill the engine with fuel. Fitech puts this down to filtration of fuel. I blame China. It SHOULD run well after you have answered the 3 or 4 engine set-up questions. If it does not, go looking at the engine and the install before you start pushing random buttons on the handheld display Plumb a pressure gauge in permanently, else you will be forever guessing and wondering. It should be logged data from factory. It is set from the factory to backfire out the exhaust on deceleration. Learn about the DFCO settings Learn how to export and interpret data logs. Fitech says no EFI expertise required, that is a lie, tuning is mostly up to you.
The Fitech seems to work ("good enough") out of the box for about 75% of users, so the odds are in your favour. For the rest, it is a steep learning curve into EFI theory of application. For my $$$ I got a good basic understanding of EFI and how it should work.

OK, OK, there's no way that you are allowed to use conduit like that for your wiring without letting on exactly what it is and where you get it! Please Do a google image search for "liquid tight conduit". All kinds of options and fittings and whatnot to do the job. Mostly for industrial use, but looks good in this application.

IRON y..get it ?...Iron, Rust. Plastic car? eh? If painted in a marble finish, I would say that the project has hit Rock Bottom. I will let myself out. Yes I do understand irony unlike most people, including Alanis Morissette :-) And also your clever play on words, a man with a similar warped brain wiring to mime :-) However, your comment about the marble finish hitting rock bottom I don't understand, it's all Greek to me. I guess it was funnier when an acquaintance of mine wrapped his sailboat in a granite finish and named the boat "Rock Bottom" Not even sure if the expression "Rock Bottom" carries over to the Queens Slang? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Then may I suggest a faux rusty patina finish? I do like irony. Rusty irony ? the marble with an edge looks like a plan. but what colour wheels ? James IRON y..get it ?...Iron, Rust. Plastic car? eh?
