Bit harsh. I mean, I can't bear his music or any of the plastic manufactured pap that goes with it, but he's only a kid. He's found a way to make loads of cash by doing something he enjoys and, as a result, loads of girls want to bang him. Fair play to him, I say. Plus One I hope to pick up the good lady's Heat magazine next week to find pictures of Harry Styles steamed up on the back seat of his Capri with Taylor Swift.

Can you swap the DMF for a 'proper' flywheel from another redblock? Seems a sensible thing to do while you've got to drop the box. I seem to remember a 740 turbo clutch coming with my 240 as a more stout upgrade that would bolt straight up, suggesting good intercompatibilty if the Flywheel bolt pattern is unchanged.

Lambdrover- I've just taken a call from someone who wants to view tomorrow and the earliest I can get pics will be at that viewing if he doesn't take it. In the interests of fairness, I will be allowing him first refusal as he's got a bit of a drive to see it.
Re. the MOT thing. I took it for a test when it fell due in June or July and it failed so I parked it up ready to sort out. In the meantime the Government decided in their 'wisdom' that pre 60 cars are looked after in such a way that they don't need to bother checking up on them so come November-ish, it no longer required MOT as proof of roadworthiness. This does not exclude it from being roadworthy, and it currently isn't so any driving would be at your risk based on your own legal and moral judgment calls. It also needs fuel and sparks setting up in order for it to run correctly.

I have been after this for a while... Go for it. You'll kick yourself if you miss it again. And I'd hate to be responsible for you kicking yourself Any idea how much the welding would cost to be done professionally? I don't have the time to do welding myself at the moment. That's where it gets a bit vague. You could get someone to bang some plates over the holes for not very much at all to get you going, but ideally it needs the sills doing- the ones on there aren't correct. I've got the contact details here somewhere for the guy that makes them for the owners club so you can bypass their significant markup It's about as simple as monocoque construction gets so not too big a job compared to many cars for someone who knows what they're doing. Interested though! Any chance of Delivery? ;D Afraid not, though I will happily help as far as is reasonably possible with loading, dealing with your collection driver and make sure that everyone is happy before the car leaves. I won't mess anyone about- I've made too many friends through this forum to risk giving myself any sort of bad name As above, I will try to improve that ad ASAP but can answer any questions on here, by phone or by PM.

SOLD. NO LONGER AVAILABLEModel: Standard Ten Year: 1955 Mileage: Probably irrelevant on a car that is 58 years old. Tax: Yes. Can't remember how much but it's free. MOT: Failed (see description) but now exempt Location: Somerset, near Yeovil (TA14) Price: £SOLD Contact details: PM or call. phone is better as I will answer your questions immediately rather than bouncing messages back and forth for days. Oh Seven 81 490 Three four eight oneIf you're interested, then your best bet is to start by having a skim through of the readers rides thread here, the ad from when I bought it here and the ad before that hereBad bits first. Here's the MOT fail list Offside front outer sill rust Offside front inner sill rust-- These first two are actually the same fail as the rust goes from outer sill to outer sill but behind the wing, if that makes sense Nearside rear inner sill rust- grotty hole right up in the join to the floor Offside rear inner sill rust.- likewise Nearside upper balljoint dust cover excessively deteriorated Offside upper balljoint dust cover excessively deteriorated---replacement Ball joints purchased but not fitted Lucas electrics cover these points- Offside rear direction indicator not working Offside front headlamp not working on main beam These just need nipping up Nearside front wheel bearing excessive play Offside front wheel bearing excessive play Parking brake efficiency below requirements (18%) More bad-- the only problems rendering the car undrivable are a very leaky carb (replacement obtained but not fitted) and because of this I haven't been able to set up the new posh electronic dizzy. There are various bits of grot and patches and mismatched paint and a torn headlining and a cracked steering wheel and.. it's a tatty little car Good things It's cool It's really easy to repair and maintain with Triumph Herald/Spit stuff It's tax exempt and MOT exempt so you can't get much cheaper to keep It comes with any useful spares that I've accumulated (including the expensive windscreen seal required) I genuinely think that it wouldn't take much to get this up to a reasonably good (though not minty mint) standard but my priorities are elsewhere; those friends with me on Facebook will have noticed a shift to making nice beer and playing with my little boy. I also want to fund a new car purchase Apologies for shoddy advert- I will amend to include more info later but I wanted to at least get the ad up. Will also get fresh pics next time I visit where it's stored To make it clear- this will need trailering at the moment. Not running due to carb and timing needing set up and I must point out that MOT exempt does not mean roadworthiness exempt so please take this into consideration. 'Stock' photos taken during the few months I've owned it.

Cutting springs is fine if they relocate as they should. I have a feeling though, as mentioned above, that the springs will be pig-tailed and therefore not suitable for cutting as they will not locate in the spring cups as the end section will now be a different diameter to what it was originally.

Hi All, Definitely selling now. I've had no time, nor inclination to find time to play cars and I need some cash for a biggerer daily. It's in it's exact MOT failed state and so although now MOT exempt it needs those fail points rectifying, as well as the replacement carb fitting and the timing set once it's fuelling properly again. £400 will take it including any bits that I got with it and have acquired on the way. PM if interested.. Otherwise, I'll go and compose an eBay ad and chuck it on at 99p

Make sure you buy an auto darkening helmet. Makes everything so much easier and means you can line things up and see what you're doing with the mask down. I'm sure the £30 ones on eBay are fine, but I'd rather get one from a known brand for piece of mind- they are your only set of eyes, afterall.

if my commute was that short and I (as you appear to) lived with my parents, I would drive the coolest car I could afford to run. That said, I'd choose a mk1 Fiesta over a Peugeot 306 anyway. You don't need to justify it to us if you just prefer one or the other

That stout ended up lovely. I've kept a quarter of the batch back for christmas. Since then I've made (and drunk most of) this IPA. Considering it's a fairly budget kit, the quality is really good and the fact it's 2.1kg of extract rather than 1.5-1.7 is nice. Really, really happy with it ;D Also had a go at one of the new Wilko range kits but I'm not holding out much hope. I have a feeling they're cheap for a reason but I only bottled the 'Sweet Newkie Brown' yesterday so I stand to be corrected. Tonight I took another step on with kit brewing. I compiled some bits Warmed up the tin Then got took a look at this. I've never used hops before. Looks like something you'd put in a jazz cigarette Then I boiled an ounce of them for 20 minutes or so. They smell like a cross between stewed tea and the worst jazz cigarette ingredients you purchased as a teenager from a guy at college.. Boiling to add at them beginning of the fermentation adds bitterness, and dry hopping later on will add flavour and aroma you think of when you think of a hoppy beer. I'm doing both. I didn't get pics of the rest as I made an of it by dropping some of the hops in the wort, forgot to add the sugar and DME until after I had added most of the water... Nevermind, all should be fine now.

My pc has given up the ghost, I have an old stereo and some speakers, plus wood lying about.. might have to build myself one of these.. once I work out the wiring from the power supply.. lol It really is as simple as I posted above. Bridge the two pins mentioned above (with a switch between is even better), then yellow wires are 12 volt, red ones are 5 volt and orange ones 3.3 volts. Black ones are all -ve

Oh, Bruce, liking the scanner power supply, my electrical skills really aren't up to much, but the battery doesn't last that long, so I might have to look into that An old desktop PC PSU is ideal too. You need to bridge two pins on the bit that plugs into the motherboard to fool it into thinking it's connected and it's all sorted ( the green one fourth from the left on the top row and any black one) I have one lying about to test things without needing a battery. You get a 12, 5 and 3.3v supply. Obviously you can still run a car fag lighter off it too, which is useful.

It'll take more than that to ruffle feathers It's really hard to convey the dynamic of a play weekend from the pictures, but it's generally a case of getting out what you put in. The best fun you're likely to find with a bunch of oily men as long as you are enthusiastic about getting involved

Welshbreed, If it makes it better, I've been attending A52 since playdays started 3 years ago and pay for any stickers as well as donating to 'the kitty' each time to help cover bills, pay for consumables etc. I've seen some of the bills that come through and can absolutely assure you A52 is not a profit making venture and everybody attending is expected to contribute where they can so that we can keep going back month after month. I reckon I could just about make 12 330ml beers for £2.50. Probably taste of though See you all in January
