Nice looking E28. Best thing to do with that lump is stick an M20 325i head on it, yours is a 2.7 and with the E30 head, and a cam it can be made to produce a bit of poke. It’s not quite as simple as that though, I think you might have to deck the block and get a vernier pulley but it’s worth it. I had an M30 in an E30 before and it’s an anchor of a thing. I’d be tempted to keep what you’ve got. There’s possibly other things need done, been I while since I was into old bimmers.

I have a set of quickjacks and like them a lot. Costco have them usually if you can get a card.

My youngest learnt to back a trailer like that. As a wee fellow he had a wooden toy traction engine with working steering. One day, I think he was about ten or eleven at the time, he asked if he could drive my Civic around the yard and I told him he had to park the trailer somewhere sensible first. He'd never driven with a trailer before and he just backed it in neatly between some other parked things without even appearing to think about it. Suprised the hell out of me. Then he told me how he knew what to do.
I always thought that the Tamiya RC trucks would be very useful in learning how to reverse an artic.

Thats very cool, you will be able to get a 1/4 or 1/8" NPT PSV with the correct pressure range for this, I'd drill and tap a thread into lid on the small water trap / receiver on the side of it. Then back it right off, and run the compressor, gradually increasing the tension on the PSV until you reach the 100psi. That should work fine. However it would be better if you could install a cutoff switch aswell. Possibly look for a knackered small compressor on ebay and use the parts? The pressure switch would have to be adjustable though, as most compressors will go to around 120-150PSI.

Did you bolt to the inside or the outside which did you re-drill Did you have any pictures of that Tunnel side rail bolted into the original holes and the outside was re-drilled. Sorry, no pics but it was a doddle.

How did you fix the MX5 seats in Bolted the Brat seat rails on the new seats then re-drill the floor mounts at one side. The Bride seats actually bolted on the the original points with the brat rails.

All my personal opinion but I don't get the current popularity of Raptor. It has no anti-corrosion properties whatsoever so unless the steel you are spraying it onto is perfectly rust free (impossible on any seam) it will just come through again, you're just covering the rust. I did my Brat bed with it, it looks good but there is a persistant rusty seam that keeps popping through no matter how well I grind / treat it. Blasting would be the only way.

I bloody love the Cannonball and have some prized Cannonball related things.. Genuine 55MPH sign, signed by 2019 record holder Ed Bolian - time 32:05. Another sign, signed by loads of record breakers over the years, diesel, motorcycle, slowest! Etc. And my favorite, the creator of the Cannonball, Brock Yate's book, Cannonball! Signed by the man himself! I would like to get a movie poster signed by the cast but I haven't had any luck yet.

I would be very surprised if someone had done that. I’d say that was a loose piece of material being dragged around the drum.

I'm 1980, when every second car had holes in the wings and it felt like nobody ever had a new or "nice" car, not where I lived anyway.

Looks absolutely stunning mate! I remember taking pics there years ago too haha, great spot down there. If you don’t mind me asking, who did the paint? My CLS55 and E36 are needing work before too long... Cheers, I had a E30 335 in Total BMW years ago and the photos were taken there so I thought it would be good to take the pics in the same spot. Paint was done by myself. Don’t look too close.😂

I’m guessing the 1.6 has an English axle whilst the V6 ones had an Atlas.

Wanted one since Tamiya made me aware of them (35+ years ago?) Really good job Thanks very much, funny you should say that... It's now even got the correct TE37 wheels on it.
