Hi all got a bit done today but finished early as my 8 month old grandson came for lunch and took over. I have removed the bulk head and rear door trims. The inner rear doors will need some paint as they are marked. I have also carried out my usual mods to the wiring loom, removing all the excess wiring and rerouting the loom inside the channel over the rear doors. Tomorrow should see the inner rear doors painted and the old wheel boxes and floor removed. If I can get the paint done tomorrow morning then I may get the rear door windows in tomorrow afternoon. Cheers - mike

Hi all
Later today I should be starting another camper / day van conversion on a 2011 Renault Trafic.
Its a nice clean and straight van with light use only.
Its going to be similar to my other conversions but with some upgrades plus a few tweaks in the build process to improve the quality and speed up the build.
The ceiling will be made to run side to side instead of front to back, the fridge is going to be a waeco compressor fridge and the seat is from a new supplier and includes head rests and some fancy stitching.
I'm also looking at improving the wiring set up so that there's no visible wiring inside the units.
Target completion date is 28th September.
Cheers - mike

Hi all
back to the Peugeot today. No conversion action though just mechanical stuff.
Fitted a new latch to the sliding door and spent an hour adjusting it to fit and shut right.
Pulled the injectors as i'm not happy with the way it runs when cold. Found that the fire washers had failed on 2 and that someone has been here before. Going to drop them off for testing and refurb tomorrow. I was also going to pull the rocker cover and rocker assembly off as I thought I had a bad hydraulic tappet or two but think the noise may have been the leaking injector seals.

Hi all I have made the new floor panel for the drivers side, just waiting for more ply to be delivered so I can make the passenger side. Whilst waiting I have covered the modified passenger wheel box with lining carpet. That will be it for today as I have a car to service. Cheers - mike

Hi all Got a bit more done the front step is now trimmed and the front part of the ply floor has been re-made in new ply. I'm going to fix this down permanently after lunch and trim the passenger rear wheel box. The rest of the new floor can then go down for good (when the ply turns up) Cheers - mike

Hi all Got some more done to the Boxer, I spent a few hours yesterday on mechanical issues. I changed the drivers front corner bumper, replaced the drivers electric mirror and changed the heater resistor pack plus cleaned any trim that was accessible whilst I was there. This morning I have removed the old ply floor which was a pain as all the screws were rusted way and the floor was stuck down with what looked like spilled glue. It took and age to get the floor clean enough for it new ply. I have also cut the new flooring ready for installing. The full width seat fouls the wheel housing on these vans so it need to be modified.I usually mark a straight line and then with a hammer and bolster chisel I drift it into the required shape. Hope to get the new floor and flooring down for good later but need to do some carpet lining first. Cheers - mike

Hi all Had a steady hour or so and fitted the passenger side window. I decided to upgrade it to a slider the same as the drivers side. This will also allow me to delete the heki roof vent. Hope to get the old ply floor up later and the new floor and flooring down tomorrow. Cheers - mike

Hi all
Have just started a conversion on a 2009 Peugeot Boxer 2.2 diesel.
She's a nice straight van but filthy and with some mechanical issues.
She has had replacement injectors but they have not be properly coded and some of the hydraulic tappets are noisy so will need a day or two of mechanical work.
I spent the morning getting the side door open as the catch was jammed. I got it open without doing any damage but the catch itself is beyond help. There's about 4mm of wear in the catch so that even when the door is shut you can pull it off the seal plus it rattles and knocks like crazy when you are driving. A new catch assembly is on the way.
Have also removed the bulkhead and started removing the old ply lining.
Spent a couple off hours fitting the drivers side window. Its in my usual limo tint and is an opener as this is were the kitchen will be.
I have also trial fitted the full width rock and roll bed and its going to be tight getting the units a usefull depth plus it fouls the the wheel well. I should be able to cut out and reshape the wheel well without to much bother though.
I should have he complete by mid July and just for a change this one's not yet pre sold.
Cheers - mike

Hi there
I usually turn one around in 3-4 weeks.
They are at the budget end when it comes to campers. The beds are very cosy for 2 people. They next van will have a full width bed which is more like it.
Thanks for the positive comments.
Cheers - mike

Hi all still plodding along with this one, the mains and 12v systems are now fully installed and tested. I have made the kitchen worktop, its in gloss black laminate not my usual matt black. The hole for the hob is cut and its ready for final install of the hob and worktop. Just waiting for a few bits to arrive before i can finish the kitchen. Monday should see the wardrobe side and front made and fitted, just waiting for final a decision on the final layout from the customer. Cheers - mike

hi 50bhp
fitting swivels is easy, finding single passenger seats is ni on impossible.
I fit swivels to the double passenger seats, check my other builds for details.
