I sympathise. I have put a lot of money into older cars and just when I think nothing can go wrong it does.
I have turned my attention to a modern car just recently and am enjoying it (although this now part of a recall for a headgasket issue!) I was using a Porsche 924 daily previously. I still own an old car, an MG Midget but it isn’t a daily and in fact I have SORNed it for now whilst I work out want I want to do with it. I also just got rid of my 72 beetle before Christmas, I sank £2k into it to get an mot in the summer.
This isn’t the end of old cars for me, but I need a break.

Where are you based? A mate of mine would possibly do it for you. Farnham in Surrey. Just outside Guildford He’s in South Woodford which is east London/Essex I’ll ask him

Really enjoyed the latest episode. In top gear or this show I have never seen the point of the celebrity piece but if they feel it’s necessary to pull in viewers then so be it.

Great idea. In fact me and a couple of mates were having a conversation about this recently.
Citroen Saxo VTR/VTS. I had a VTR when they first came out. Nippy, handled well, arguably looked good but I think the whole Max Power thing then made them misunderstood. You mention these cars to anyone and they are a “chav car”. I think if you picked up a clean unmolested one of these I think you’d like it.

Hi Dan
Fantastic work on this. The wheels and lowering make it even better.

Thanks! - I did ponder your 924 for sale.. but Kent is an almighty trek! - Looks clean though! I think they are a lovely looking car and drive great. I don’t use mine anymore, but used to use it as a daily before I replaced it with a modern ive been after since it was launched. Looking forward to seeing what happens with yours.

Is the front not the same as the 6n polo saloon and estate?

I have never owned a BL, Austin, Rover etc car before but I love reading about them (on AROnline for example) and like most from the 70s, 80’s and 90’s.
So basically my desire is to own one very soon and tick that box. I would imagine it is not a motoring desire of the masses! I would imagine these days it’s to own a BMW 1 series or Audi A3 or something equally unimaginative...

Great buy, I have a soft spot for these and most BL, Austin, Rover etc cars, but never owned one.
Now on the lookout for a 600!
Look forward to progress and bookmarked...

You might be right!! I note that the car has a swindon number plate. Was the original supplier Dick Lovett. I believe it was, I have a lot of Dick Lovett receipts with it
