Looks good, I share the same love as you for late 80's/early 90's hot hatches and picked up and XR2i myself just before Xmas. excellent mate, do you have a thread about yours? what condition is it in? Not yet, not touched it yet to be honest. Mine looked mint at first glance but as already said the bodykit hides lots of rust. It will all be sorted eventually though

Not trying to be cheeky but I'd stretch to £120 on the engine if you get desperate to shift it. There is cheaper ones on ebay but your local so willing to pay a biit more.

Even the first gen corsa combo's are getting rare now. Can't remember the last time I spotted one.

I found re-fitting the door cards on my old 214 was a lot easier with the window wound down.
Also trinity motors was an MG-Rover and Land Rover dealer in Hinkley, Leciestershire. I believe it became Mazda after MG-R went under. Closed for good a couple of years ago and now a supermarket. They may have been in more locations but that's the one I know of.

Do you have the paintcode? And are the front wings mint? Any rust on the front edge of the bonnet?

Jeez this is taking the proverbial now. It's got to be for the all cortina banger meeting surely? It's to much of a coincidence.

Doubt they've even been nicked for scrap with metal value dropping so low. Very strange.
Maybe for the tyres? Were they a rare size or decent brand?

At home with mine. I'm again lucky enough to have a four car space driveway and a garage, plus use of my Mums drive/garage which is also big enough for three/four cars.
I usually get allowedone weekend day plus some evenings in the summer to work on my cars. Only got the two projects at the min though. A '91 XR2i and a '92 Corsa GSi

I know where there's ones of these parked up in Birmingham. Hasn't moved in atleast ten years. I'll try and get a pic next time I'm passing. Just passed one today standing in a garden off the A38 near where that military surplus place used to be just caught a glimpse from the passenger seat of my mates truck Never spotted that one, go past there quite often to. The one I know of is red with a white roof near the city centre.
