So, we've removed all the bodykit and underneath all that plastic is spot on. Metal clips glued to the bodykit with a plastic fixing into the car, clips had rusted breaking the glue which is why all the kit was loose, easy enough fix. We had a downpour here yesterday and the drivers front carpet is now soaked so that'll be next, likely blocked sunroof drain (as suggested above.) Once I was flying up the bypass in my VTR and the passenger front wheel arch ripped off entirely! Same thing had happened. Car was only 8years old at the time 😂

That looks fairly capable over that kind of terrain! I remember trying to follow a "wide boy" one along a twisty bit of road in my Saxo VTR and the thing pulled away from me entirely! Turns out it had a near 180hp 3SGE

My brother sold the old NI Plate off his Tiguan and Evil Bay. Sold pretty quickly to a plate dealer.

I was in NYC last week and saw a slammed Suzuki Samurai with a straight pipe, sounded terrible, looked fantastic. 2nd Gen Rav4s are really starting to Pique my interest after I saw this one: http://instagram.com/p/Cb1oVGGOKUa Corolla based, so lowering shouldn't be a massive headache and I believe 5x114.3 so wheels will be good! Also Xtrails They look good slammed. Tom

That exhaust looks brilliant.
From my experience with TA Tecshits I would imagine that you'll end up with as good a stance on the Eibachs!
V8 would also be awesome! Do they bolt to the manual box, or is some fenegalling required?

Took the Liana to have CAT replaced at friends garage. Autodoc had sent the wrong one so we had to cut and weld it. Fits beautifully now. While it was on the ramp I found some rust. Rear driverside footwell. I was supposed to fix it today, but I went out last night to see Tony Hawk Pro Skater cover band The 900, and absolutely ruined myself moshing. So now I can barely walk 😂. So next weekends job is to weld up the holes, wire brush the underside and underseal it all ready for the winter, and to fit the rear droplinks. And maybe lower it a little bit more.

How come you have an issue with the rear, don't Liana ones fit with your modded suspension or are they one of the many things only available from Lithuania or somewhere? 😁 Because of the position on the coilovers of the driplink mount they don't fit. Current issue is the CAT has split. Which is an issue as I have to drive 5hrs down to Heathrow today! Ordered a new CAT, new bolts, nuts springs etc, new exhaust rubbers and an inner track rod for £168 delivered from Autodoc! So that's the jobs for when I get back from Holiday. Hopefully I can then stop messing on with this and get back on the Beetle! Saying that my brother wants to rebuild all the brakes on his Polo and swap the engine, so that might distract me.

I want to know what happened to that school kid who bought a basket case xjs to restore, had no experience or knowledge, priority was buying a cover for it and was afraid of using an angle grinder. He had so much belief he could do it, would love to know where he got to. I was just thinking about that the other day!

A lot of the North East members have fallen away. I keep in contact with coggers and he's still doing stuff with cool old Vauxhalls. Lost contact with Autofive which is a shame cos he was a good laugh and really helpful with Cortina bits Scaryoldcortina.....well that's a story I'll not bother getting into on here. But where are people like deathgaytothemax, phoneixc, Jack who's username I can't remember etc. Tom

There's so many of them I want.
Renault 5, Skoda Estelle and 127 all because my Dad has owned them.
The 300c and the CROWN would be fantastic cruisers!
Love the look of the Beta. It's just too hard to pick

Is it just me or are XJS' becoming better and better looking as the years pass? They still seem relatively cheap as well! Tom They are. However, as the boring person (albeit knowing an XJS specialist as well) -Their build quality is shocking, even by standards of the day. It’s worth reading about the XJ and XJS development story on AROnline as to seeing why this was the case. -Many parts are NLA, or are built to the wrong spec. Front and rear springs don’t match on height or relative spring rate for example. -They hide rot like you wouldn’t believe. We saw a gorgeous 4.0 Cabrio at an auction sell for good money. A few of us wondered how it got an MOT, it was hanging that badly. -They are a true juxtaposition of engineering. Some things need to work to keep them going well. The fuel cooler not working for example can cost 30BHP on a V12 and cause starting issues. A few jobs are a nightmare. Yet folks say modern cars are worse to work on… They’re a car I’ve always wanted and you never know. But with crippling MPG, especially from the HE cars (Spending £300 a month on diesel is painful, meaning this car is out of the question as an M3 replacement), in addition to the issues cited above, as well as seeing folks become ruined from owning one haven’t helped. That said, that is causing thirsty cars to become cheaper in the auctions. A reasonably Bentley for £6k anyone? We were all stunned. -As said, other thirsty cars are reasonably priced as well. Not an XJS, but the Bentley is one example. If the market wasn’t changing they’d be climbing in value. XJSs are no longer the cheap car they used to be. It doesn’t mean I can’t dream mind you . That does look mighty fine too. The original had some interesting quirks about it, in a typical TWR way . That's an interesting read, I have no indepth knowledge of them so it was informative. Why do you think the aftermarket parts for them are so poor? I kinda thought they would demand a good quality aftermarket. I too will probably never own one, but I still admire them, and fantasy build a 6 litre V12 Manual on ITBs 😂

I'm broken.
I've looked through those pictures a couple of times and every single one would be improved by at least 2" removed from the ride height and some different wheels 😂
