I guess an up to date choice would be an Audi All road or the Volvo Cross country. I know the Audis can be made to hustle,my boss has an Allroad with a remapped tdi. You could copy the BRIXMIS cars as they were very capable.

Some things on the IVA make me laugh. Covering the nuts and bolts with plastic and rubber coverings as that's better protection for the stupid pedestrian that's walked in front of your car. If I got a sledge hammer and wrapped it in thin rubber do you think it would make a difference when I hit you with it? I'm glad our locost is on a Q plate,it predates any IVA,SVA,VOSA,DVLA (did I miss any acronyms?) tests. It's daft to get some people to try to prove provenance on some builds but like any government run scheme it's all or nothing. I know some will try to burn me for what I say but that's just my opinion.

What's up with the K series? Is it the head gasket? Would it not be less effort to make the K more reliable? There was a Freelander ia recent LRO mag that had a Turbo K series from a 75. That looked pretty good.

My parents had 3 of them. The first was an Abarth 130tc that was stolen, the next was a 105 abarth, that got stolen as well. The last one was a SuperStrada 1.4. That car rusted away in 6 months and cost a fortune in parts. At the time we could not get bits in the scrappy so it was the main stealer for the expensive parts. But despite that, they were good fun. And my parents still talk of them.

Brought this home from a garage sale today - all for the mild price of 5€. I saw those VW Doka storage boxes when I was in Dusseldorf a few weeks ago. They were in a department store for €20 each. They had a Trabant which I wanted but €20 was a bit steep.

Not sure on the xud7 but my 306s all had a sensor on top of the bell housing. Worth a look. Also your redline will be in the wrong place for a Derv.

My Dad's kitcar is running a bit sick. I went out in it on Saturday and all was well until it developed a misfire. On light load it was ok but it did not like getting a good rev it popped and backfired as well. I limped it home and found it had plenty of spark so I'm not sure it's ignition related. It's also got a weep of fuel from the carb. It's a weber with the auto choke. It leaks fuel from a some square cover with an arm that moves in and out. Does any one have any ideas?
