In used to change all my switches on my old Fords, replacing them with Lucas switches, and they still look reasonablystock, normally found in 60s,70s,80s Jags and Rovers, that normally sorts most issues electrical.

Aaarrrggghhhh dislike! What a disaster! I saw a video of some dry ice blasting and wonder if that would be any better? Dry ice blasting is not abrasive at all, it dosent clear rust and does not damage most metal surfaces, but it cant be used in enclosed spaces as it will displace oxygen, We used to use it on very large printing presses to clean off dried on ink, Just sort of transferred the mess somewhere else to get cleaned.

again, somebody has unfortunately found that vapour blasting, although good for many jobs, its not good for engines, a friend of mine had a cam cover and various induction parts for a RST vapour blasted, the engine lasted about a week, I can see laser blasting being the way forward, but I'm not sure if there is residue left.

Just remembered my e39 tourer sprung a water leak, took weeks to find, it turned out to be there rear heater pipes that go up the prop tunnel for the rear heater corroded.

I can't view, got up this morning to find a FB message that I have been Banned from Marketplace for not obeying the rules? oooops probably because I saw a very old mate was selling stuff that I wanted and messaged him direct, rather than thru Marketplace, I'm now "Under Review"

I did quite a bit of work a glass shop, my skin does not agree with itchy stuff, on some of the larger panels they would drill small holes thru the mould at crital points where there would be problems of the job coming out, these were hidden and smoothed in the mould surface with a skim of beeswax or plasticine, when the job had cured, the holes were attached to an airline and air pressure used to assist with release

I have built a few brake systems over the years, and personally wont fit a servo. OK, the servo decreases the pedal pressure and makes it easier to push, but it also decreases the feel, I will play with pedal ratio and cylinder size till I get what I like.

I don't fancy my chances, but does anybody have a Raceline water rail for a Zetec/st170 that they don't require?

Go all out and buy a battery powered grinder? They seem to be quieter in use at work at least I have a Snap-On branded on (which is German) and the other mechanic has a Dewalt one. Each has its own benefits and cons tho Battery grinders are indeed generally quite, mainly because they run a lot slower, which in turn makes it longer to grind down or cut, which tends to make it a swings and roundabouts issue, a quicker louder burst of noise, or a much longer lower volume noise,

Flap wheels seem to be the quietest, not hard discs, and 1mm discs for cutting are much quieter than the old 3mm discs, but, the secret of quiet grinding, is practice your welding to get it super neat.

Is that slinky yellow coupe near the end of the photo album the experimental Gilbern that never made it into production? If so, it's the same colour as my Invader Mk 3, which I think is an original Ford colour Yes, its a Gilburn, initially I thought it was a Piper GT

It was a good day out, and, I was also impressed with the turnout, the stars for me was the sleeper 27k Green Mk1 Cortina with the turboed S2000engine, and CA Bedford with the Dunlop advertising, brill, Bearing in mind I have a wide apreication of many scenes, but there was defiantly some that were WTF of good taste. or is that me, now the wrong side of 60, having a humourless moment.... Managed to catch up with a few old mates too let the wife drive me home via Dover all the way along the coast to a windy Hastings, All in All, a top day out Before anybody asks whereare the pics, I never take many, as the ones I take are normally are carp.
