About to go drill out stripped Allen heads on van steering, then remove sports steering, and hopefully fit an original.
Still dreading, just in case new wheel does not get etc.
Fingers crossed.

Very interesting looking place ... enjoy 👍 Ticket bought. International driving licence done. Looks like 2023 USA road trip will be happening. Oh yes! Tea & biscuits or more appropriately beer & chips at the ready. Can't wait for another Grizz roadtrip. Already subscribed to you're Youtube channel Oh, and one of the stops has to be this omen. Much more aligned to most of our interests. After I stop over in Marysville, Kansas to take a couple of SA friends to dinner it is a logical first stop the next morning. www.museumofamericanspeed.com/Voted #1 by USA Today's Readers' Choice Award: Best Attraction for Car Lovers. The Museum of American Speed in Lincoln, Nebraska, is a non-profit corporation founded in 1992 by "Speedy" Bill and Joyce Smith. The museum was originally located in a smaller building on Van Dorn street in West Lincoln. The museum moved to its current location on the Speedway Motor's campus in 2001. This 150,000 sq. ft. museum was formed to present a continuous chronology of automotive racing engines and speed equipment development to preserve, interpret, and display items significant in racing and automotive history. The collection results from the Smiths' personal involvement in racing and hot rodding, and their lifelong passion for collecting and preserving racing and automotive history.
This will be one of the best stops. I hope. Another place to add to my bucket list. The Americans do these things so well, and you know that the folks working there will be super friendly and enthusiastic. YT subscription already done. Glad you're going back, albeit solo this time. My own US trip for next year is currently on hold as my travelling companion is currently in hospital and is not well. I shall be following your updates with gusto as usual. All I can think about now is Mountain Dew Going to have to find some now! Excellent news. Looking forward to your write ups and videos. Watching with interest. Don't forget that antipodean forum several of us here also frequent. I'm sure the readers there would also enjoy a good old grizz road trip story. You could probably get away with leaving the dodgier bits in on there too. Thank you all for joining the 2023 trip. It was great to do and good to share with those who reply and commented on the thread. Hopefully the future will hold more trips.

I'm in again! Looking forward to the reports! And if you ever consider to do a road trip to the south of the lowlands on the opposite side of the small pont on the east of UK always welcome (I built a guest room this spring). Thom Morning Thom, No idea how I missed your reply. Thank you very much for the offer. I have travelled parts of the Netherlands and Europe in a VW camper and on my 1200GS with hotel and camper accommodation before and loved it. Europe has so much to offer.

Specific example. I am as loyal to my grudges as I am to my friendships. Yup. You know I harbour malice too. One day……

You could try hammering a slightly larger Torx socket into them. Use a traditional impact driver instead of a ratchet. If that doesn't work, cut an allen key into pieces long enough to get a socket onto the bit sticking out of the holes. Weld the keys into place. This is why using stainless steel button head bolts is a very bad idea. Morning Nick, Trust all is well with you. Going to sacrifice the setup as it is, just drill off the heads, remove horn push section and hopefully get centre nut removed and original steering wheel back on there, and hopefully not regret the size and feel, compared to what is fitted. Weekend job of course.

My local council recently approved the widening of a footpath, to accommodate cyclists as well(rarely does anyone cycle up or down this hill. Council is way in the red financially…… Medway council……. Who signed this off. Only time before some brain surgeon gets injured on this. Darwin wins again. Hard to believe.

Interesting but I guess there is money in delivering what the market will buy. Yeah absolutely, there is a continual moaning on US Facebook groups that Ford doesn't make cars anymore, just SUVs and crossovers, and someone points out that in 2022 they sold just 2000 Mondeos. People don't buy that kind of car any more. "why did they stop making...." = "because people stopped buying it" And likewise the Japanese and Koreans aren't going to sit on thier hands saying "we shouldn't sell those large luxury cars or V8 trucks to the Americans because its not traditional" It is sad though, I was looking at a trip over, and thinking I should rent a car this time, and its very difficult to find a class in which you can rent a car and know you will get an American one. And to me thats the point. I don't want to rent an Audi or a Nissan. But only one company was suggesting I "might" get a Chevy Malibu in one class and "might" get a Cadillac in another. But thats globalisation for ya and apparently thats what we wanted. /shuts up before goes political. That’s so true. No opinions allowed…..

This is living the dream Grizz!!! Top thread from you, as per usual, you never disappoint! Thank you Rob. Much appreciated. I know my threads are a touch random at times, but it is not for those who read between the lines. Of course those who edit my text etc have more work to do, but maybe even they get it.
