looks better than my 16v at the moment too
3 types of volcane, 1.9 128 bhp non cat (205 gti engine with superior engine management) 2.0 8v, 122 bhp, cat engine, probably more torque.
and the 92 bhp Turbo Diesel, possibly the first sporty diesel ever.

shame its not legible for much in the way of competing, most stuff doesnt allow bike engines and the rear engine thing would put you in the class with the single seaters.
this, is a quick Cornish 205, under 650 kg, knocking on 300 bhp 2.0 na.

Make sure you wind the tension off the spring, always helps to elongate the lifespan. I've got a Magnusson one in 3/8" which is enough for 5-130NM, anything above that gets xbltorque applied. better to rtfm actually, i have always done this but the norbar specifically states to leave it on 60nm on the 300/340 models.

that looks fabulous, the wheel style would not look out of place on one of the other big french cars of the era, get some peugeot caps made up for it

yes definitely keep it and sell it on yourself, oem cats are worth a lot.
you'll often find a local guy on facebook marketplace, otherwise hunt for your local metals recycling yard, they'll look up the code on the cat and give you a price, quite possible it'll cover the cost of the replacement!

I bought Norbar ones from Toolstop recently, as they do a model above the highest halfords one, but if you don't need to go quite that high I'd get the Halfords one for ease of purchase and warranty

have you still not sorted the compression ratio yet?
its all pretty straightforward what the different figures mean, however its bordering on a dark art/science actually specifying something to work in any application.
my engine has newman ph4's, 286 degree hydraulic cam, 108 peak lift, 11.something peak lift, 2186cc and 240 bhp.

being that late an engine/vehicle it will have some variant of bmw's ews anti theft system.
I'm not sure about the coding, I thought the vp37 was quite a simple evolution of the ve, so quite a basic system.
Enda ward at EndTuning may be able to help you, I have one of his chips in my e34 and he knows a lot about the various ecu's bmw have used.

ah. I would call the DVLA then. I don't think it'll be much difference as a 1.4 8v is taxed at £265 I believe anyway

had this with a vw lt, got the injectors cleaned and the knock got louder, then the oil pressure disappeared... found a blue cap on number 1 rod but yes, I'd start with some injectors, I'm guessing this is a Commonrail L series being in a streetwise as that's quite late.

as long as the emissions stuff is all the same there wouldn't be any reason for a change.
I think the only reason for a VED change is for pre 2001 where the capacity is changed either side of 1540cc, or class of use.

logins for the mot is per tester not garage, as for the "free retest if you leave it there" , that is at the discretion of the garage, and a bit of a money maker, any tester I've used has been a standard free retest within 2 weeks, as they only test what failed unless something especially obvious is spotted.

106/saxo pas pump will have an 80 amp fuse from memory, they can draw a fair few amps especially if you load them up with wide tyres.

what is the vehicle in question?
lots of modern stuff use very high output alternators that are not any larger than the old units.
