Man,that black paint is awesome! Every car u ever owned is awesome! One question though; when i polish a car, after a brief drive,it's just a "dust-magnet",and i have to wipe it down completely before i can put it away (anorak,i know). Don't u have that problem? Greetz! Dust-magnet lol...yeah, I have that problem with my cars, especially the dark ones. This black Probe is a nightmare for it.

Not much to report on this one. The ABS light comes on more than it's off. Sensor? Ring? Something to investigate. It's got a bit of an oil weep. Not a leek as such, just a weep. Possibly a manifold gasket. Something else to look into. It's been to two or three shows too, where it gets quite a bit of attention and interest. Comments like "You don't see many of these now" and "so why does it have a Mazda engine" are currently top of the list. And I'm building up the shine with the wax. Certainly looked shinier than the car of the guy who works in the shop next door today...

We also have the best tasting coffee in Saltburn bar none. And that's not only me saying that. The locally roasted beans really do make a smooth cup. We have a popular range of syrups too...

Right, so week 21....13 weeks since I updated this thread. Sorry. Well, it's still going well. Still got six staff. Customers returning regularly. It's still long hours, but I wouldn't change it. I've applied for an alcohol license for the premises (I've already got a personal one). I did apply originally a few weeks ago, to which two elderly neighbours objected (the usual generic "there's too many licensed premises in the town etc etc). However, that application had to be cancelled as I was under the impression the council sorted the press notice, as they did for the change of use application. They don't. I should have, but the wording in their email was wooly. Anyway, I've had to re-apply, at another £100 plus £100 newspaper advert, ands that went in today. We only want to initially open on a couple of evenings as a swish cocktail/gin/rum bar, also selling drinks by local breweries and distillers. So we'll see how that goes. We have a big LGBT event on 15th July, in conjunction with the Conservative Club next door, when we will be doing all the teas/coffees/cakes for the festival, then Saltburn Food Festival on the 29th July when the whole town is rammed. Oh, one thing that we didn't expect was to be dropped by our ice cream supplier, completely out of the blue. They rang on a Saturday morning, 10 days after I'd started chasing them to order some more, and said that they believed we wouldn't sell enough to make it worth their while. I said that I thought that was completely unfair, that we were a start-up business, and we'd just gone through the longest, coldest winter in about 10 years, yet they were basing our future sales on that. They hadn't ever discussed what they expected of us, given us targets or anything. Anyway, looks like it's worked in our favour, as we now have a more local supplier, still award winning ice cream, which is quite a bit cheaper per tub to buy in, and I can get it next day, whether that's one tub or five. Screw you I say. Nice way to treat your customers/suppliers, eh? The feedback from customers to what we are doing is great, and the reviews on Facebook and TripAdvisor are smashing so far. www.facebook.com/Saltburn/www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g776120-d13528670-Reviews-Taste_Tea_and_Coffee_House-Saltburn_by_the_Sea_North_Yorkshire_England.htmlI'll try not to leave it as long next time. Anyone fancy a treat?....

Nice one. I'm thinking of taking my Grifter (my own big Christmas prezzie back in 1982) to some events to show with the Probe.

Nice. I loved my old non-T5 V70. Shame it's not the best time for me with, like you, running a business.

You really won't go wrong with an ex-Geordie car! GLWS. Cheers for that bud. This really is a fantastically capable motor. Good looking to. Understated, but a proper car underneath.

Love this. Fantastically odd and rare. Sorry to re-quote the oft used phrase, but "I wish I had the room". It's true.

Looks great. I'd recommend a clay bar before polishing and waxing. Get the invisible contaminants off with the clay, then polish it (Poorboys is decent stuff for dark colours), then wax it, and keep building the layers of wax. I waxed the Probe again today. Nowt finer than a shiny black car.

I'm on my second 2nd Gen Probe, and love how they are under-rated. Love these First Gen ones. Rare as hen's chollers and cool as. Awesome colour scheme. I also have a T12 Datsun Stanza, and a similarly serious red interior was available on those too. Bookmarked.

I haven't been on here a while and you got another Probe. That does look great in black and I do like the alloys. They really suit it. Nice buy Chris. Cheers Peter. Why have you not been on RR? Everything ok?

A guy near me was talking about his 2.5 Probe only a few weeks ago, he scrapped it cos of a duff wheel bearing. It sounded great had loads of add ons (tasteful) and a stainless exhaust and he scrapped it complete Sounds like a bit of a shame that...

Nice to see a 600 getting some love. Looks really good in a dark colour and plenty of wax. What did you use on the carpet? I agree, the 600 looks better in darker colours. Amazingly, the product I used on the carpets was £1. I think it was 'Astonish Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner'. Spray on, rub in, let it dry a bit then rub out. Worked much better than I had thought it would.
