Just being entirely silly - referring to the pinholes in the laquer in post 866. Typically my brain goes in odd directions. :-) However, once you start running down the slippery slope labelled weight reduction it is difficult to control your speed and easy to go too fast and crash. I have to contantly apply the brake :-) I am sure it is neverending - and potentially problematic - i recall seeing a documentary which referenced Colin Chapman adding lightness to the point that his race cars were dangerous to the drivers. On a lighter note every time I view this thread I always here the Beatles singing "now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall." Great work.

So impressive in so many ways! But, is carbon fibre magnetic? Even with rare earth magnets and, measuring weight reduction with pinholes - that's hardcore! Thanks. No, so magnets secured with heavy duty double sided tape. Not sure what you mean by measuring weight reduction with pinholes? The next bit of fun is to stuff this pile of spaghetti into the shell so that I have an electrical system. Need to completely go over the harness to remove any un-needed circuits. Would be nice if the connectors were marked for function! Thank god for wiring diagrams....I should maybe get one! Just in case, here: www.advanceautowire.com/mgb.pdf

Could they go left and right in front of the doors under the dash in the interior?

Went out on Sunday, and the boss just kept on buying me beers. Would have been rude to decline...😂😂 Indeed but I suspect you will discover to your chagrin that the boss took those beers out of your paycheque.

This just looks better and better - bizarrely you make Hamilton look pretty good too! thanks man !.. i got some sick wheels coming from japan that are going to bring it over the top soon and lots of euro goods also.. lol hamilton is hamilton there is some spots nice and others not.. you from here ? In Etobicoke now but lived in Ancaster for 12 years and worked on the wesr mountain. Always found Hamilton more beautiful than expected and as ugly as described - often at the same time. Do you go to the Pier 4 cruise nights? I think the prettiest location in the province.

Do you think people would believe it if I add a dynamo sticker with 'Nitros' on it to the switch with no apparent job on the Land Rover ? If you do at least have the sense to label it hyper drive/ time warp/ afterburner or some such thing.

Love what you are doing! Also think the T with red background makes it look like a superhero logo. ( in a good way) so perhaps the camper could be a secret lair or some such thing. Or a transformer!

And jpsmit as it turns out I had crushed/blocked the fuel return line with the brake booster when I changed it. It was causing a load of excessive pressure on the float needle! Discovered it when I was troubleshooting the engine refusing to idle back in early May. They always find a way to bite back don't they?! Glad you found it.

Oh my. I must say I could stare at the car all day - the quality of the finish and the details are every bit as compelling as the performance.

filter and hoses is a cheap fix so, go for it. note though that with the flow of these pumps (+/- 3 lbs psi) the filter won't fill.

Looking at the various arch options, I would like to suggest simple - black - aftermarket bolt on arches. Here is my reasoning.
A while back we were watching a home reno show where the owner was restoring an old, abandoned church. It was red brick. All the brick repairs he did, he did with yellow brick to make it clear where the old ended and the new began. Then, in the future, it could actually be brought back to what it was.
I fell similarly about this - the paint and patina is so amazing that any attempt to massage/move/cut/stretch the arches not only risks damaging it but, makes it look faux. Arches that are obviously new and "external" help the viewer understand what is original and what was added in the name of legality and safety. It is kind of like a fire alarm in a historic building - it has to be there and sometimes it is better to make it obvious than to try to hide it.
Hope this makes sense. Awesome project!
