had the same with admiral, loyal customer for around 3 years then all of a sudden doubled my next yearly quote- had nothing bad in my name, and squeaky clean license no claims etc. so shoved them off and went elsewhere. Does seem they will take the mick and try to profit from loyal customers. Not a good way of business I think.

As a 24 year old I may fall in this bracket (but am slowly creeping into adulthood?!), I worked my gonads off since I was 13 to pay for all my cars and projects. and still do to this day! Come across all sorts over the years - grumpy old gits, had a racist guy once, but he soon got told to jog on(not in those words may I add much worse) and met some downright rude turd stains. BUT the owners club I have always been a member of and has always taken a decent and modern/moving with the times approach has been the mk1 Cortina owners club!(ironic as I own 3 of the buggers!) the annual rally you meet a load of owners who all have always been great guys, the spares and advice available is spot on. and age is merely just a number. I do feel there is a lot more to be done to welcome younger audiences in, but then again the car criteria may be a bit too modern. its a shame but I'm sure something better can and will be done and more people driving more interesting older cars other then a modern VAG with wind deflectors and stickers. EDIT: I forgot to add, all guys I have met through here weather that be through shows/meets, buying or selling cars or parts have been a pleasure! not a bad thing to say at all! very welcoming and friendly, hope to meet more this year

If you dislike it so much, why do you continue to watch it? Seems needlessly masochistic. Because i thought it would get better.. it didnt. Proper hipster show for hipsters. Wont be watching it again.

This programme is utter trash. watched it again and just what a waste of my life. 40k for that capri? yeah right. original injection recaros seats butchered up. did you catch that finish? utter rubbish. shows like this will bring complete jockeys to the whole scene. Hate it.
Drews salvage hunters classic cars is something I really like though. That's straight after goblin garbage garage.

Been using this everywhere recently, my poor new Golf GTD has had a well earned rest lol. Anyway nothing mad to report, got a few updates coming but its all minor stuff. all adds up , needing an oil change and coolant re flush as well. really does drive nice, Its so refined and just a great tool. Used it for luggin plenty of car bits around earned its keep for sure. done 3000 miles so far since buying it. Currently on the lookout for reasonably priced dampening adjustable suspension. The eBay jobbies that came with it are not the best. any sensibly priced recommendations?

Twin sidedrafts can be reliable, in 23 years of ownership I have only had one issue with a blocked accel pump jet on my elan, it starts and drives smoothly right down to low rpm on twin 40 dellortos (far better than the efi on my aged range rover!). One of the problems with modified engines on carbs is getting them set up properly, not many people out there who know what they are doing now, same goes for the distributor advance curve. very true, also the price of getting a correct distributor to match your cam. from a reputable supplier i.e Aldon and H&H. was expensive but well worth it, hence why some now run megajolt or nodiz to get it bang on ! But I do agree with your points its not simply bolting on unknown pub fact upgrades many don't think of advance curves of a dizzy or timing the cam in correctly and also for the OP sanspeed are not the best tuners I found out. road and race in Essex are where I take mine, and I live 60seconds from Sanspeed..just my opinion based on my experience

Slammage you might as well have spoken to me in French!! Nodiz? TPS? Trigger wheel? I’m just about understanding throttle bodies and mapping and the you throw that at me😂😂 you can adapt your existing stuff to be more reliable. basically. run a nodiz- 3d mappable ignition in a box tps- throttle position sensor, can be bought from webcon to go on your existing webers trigger wheel - to go on the front pulley to configure the engine orientation/ Top dead centre crank sensor - to pick the cranks from the trigger wheel bit of wiring and you will have a 3d mappable ignition. you can run either webers with a tps retrofitted on or throttle bodies. would be a whole lot cheaper and a little involved but a bit of research and its not rocket science too much
