This may seem a little odd, but I have a desire to use an airbox in the opposite direction from intended (i.e. the air intake side will become the outlet and vice versa) - will the air still flow through the filter ok?
I suspect it will as it's just a cylindrical paper filter, but thought I'd ask first as there is plenty'o'knowledge on here!
Cheers, Martin

I've been offered a set of 4 wheels for my Landy (8x15) but haven't got any way of collecting them... Anyone heading along all or part of that route anytime soon?
Cheers!

If I was closer I'd be tempted to come and have a butchers, but it's a bit too much of a trek mate!
I really could do with some 15 inch wheels as I've got a set of 31x10.5x15 Mud tyres ready to sling on....!

Last time I checked, there was an LS400 in my local scrappy. I'm due a visit there this week, I'll see if it's still there - pm me your number and I'll text you how much they want for it and if OK, I'll grab it and bung it in the post to you?

Just bought a 1995 Disco and I'm after some 15x7 or 15x8 wheels to fit it. I did buy some from here a while ago, never used them, figured I never would and then sold them on (doh!), so am in need of another pair!
What y'got people?

I have a pair of Eibach 30mm hubcentric Merc wheel spacers that I'm no longer going to be using due to the demise of my 420SEL. Come with the required bolts to fit them to the Merc hubs, you then use your existing bolts to attach your wheels to the spacers.
Cost me £30 off here and I've not used them, so £30 is what I'll take for 'em (plus postage at cost!)
Cheers, Martin

I've fitted a couple of systems (both single point injection) and will be fitting one at some point in the not too distant future to my Chevy (which is carbed)
The filler *HAS* to be external, so that if the gas in the tank expands (when hot) and vents, it will vent to the outside world, not into the car gassing all the occupants and making a big explosive cloud in there...
So long as the fuel pump has on overflow/return to tank pipe (and I'm pretty sure it will!?), then there is a 'petrol shut off' solenoid which sits inbetween the fuel pump and carb in the fuel line and shuts off when you switch over. This obviously leaves the fuel pump running but all the fuel is just pumped back to the tank.
I believe on carbs the switchover to gas is a 2 stage process - you switch the petrol off, let the float bowl drain and then switch to gas so as to prevent 'dual fuelling'. That said, most systems allow you to start on gas as I used to do in my Merc - never had any problems with the vapouriser freezing up, even in -5 degrees outside!
My carb knowledge is weak for LPG, but I believe the above to be true!

GONE: Headlight wiper arms, front seats, radiator, clocks, p/s mirror
Provisionally Gone/Spoken for: LPG KIT, Front centre bumper chrome, wheels
A few prices of bits left:
Engine + Box (c/w head gasket sets, half the valve stem seals to sort it out and brand new dizzy cap (£50 worth!!)) £130 (or £100 for engine, £50 for tranny if sold seperately)
Happy to split the engine if anyone wants any bits off it too...
Brand new rear dampers £25 Lowering spring set (Apex -40mm I believe) £75 30mm Eibach hubcentric Wheel spacers £30 Rear centre bumper chrome (is just starting to bubble slightly on one edge, but immaculate aside from that!) £30 Rear side bumper chromes - immaculate £35 each BRAND NEW n/s rear bumper chrome £50
I'm sure there's loads of other stuff - but it'll be heading scrapyard bound before too long, so if you need anything, let me know sooner rather than later!!

I've got a 4.2 Mercedes M116 V8 (231bhp - all alloy!) that needs stem seals (8 provided along with top end gaskets) and 4 speed auto box up for grabs. £150 takes the lot (including the new dizzy cap that cost £50 on its own!!
In Derbyshire tho...
