As with so many things, it's an unfinished project too far - my heart's not really in it any more and I want the garage space to work on my Chevy Blazer, so I'll most probably be breaking it - I'm offering it here first, before I put it on the MB forum and then onto ebay.
Anyway, to the details:
Basically, the rear doors are shot, the wings are gone, it's going rusty under the rear screen/parcel shelf, the front suspension mounting points on the chassis are going crispy (I welded one side up!) and to be frank, I've reached that stage where I'd rather do other things with my life....
So here we go:
It's a 1989 (Facelift/Mk2) 'Arcticweiss' W126 420SEL
I've got a full set of good bumper chrome for it. The front centre section has a bit of a scratch on it, but nothing you'd spot from a metre away.
I've spent quite a lot of money and time replacing all the bushes in the rear suspension (trailing arm bushes and subframe mount bushes). If anyone wants any rear suspension bits, they can all be removed
It's got a single point LPG system (I bought it new from Tinleytech in 2006 or 2007 and fitted it myself) with a 77 litre toroidal tank in the spare wheel well. I also have a couple of 'cylinder' tanks lying around.
The 4.2 V8 231bhp engine has done 217k miles and needs new valve stem seals (got half of the seals and a top-end gasket set for each bank)
I've also got a spare 5 litre engine that's only done 100k
Gearbox is all good and was serviced with new oil and filter a couple of years ago - shortly before I took it off the road
I've got a genuine Mercedes Benz D/S boot well repair panel that's unfitted.
It's sitting on a set of APEX lowering springs which give it a nice stance
It's on some 16" 7 spoke Mercedes wheels, all with good tyres (3 are winter tyres, all are top makes - 2 Contis & 1 Dunlop (winter) and a Michelin). The wheels are a bit flaky and need a refurb unless you're just after a set of wheels for winter? Be ideal for that given the tyres on them!!
It has 30mm Eibach 'Hubcentric' spacers on the back too, with all the bolts required
The interior is pretty good blue leather - seats and doorcards are all good, the wood trim is all good. The dash has a couple of cracks as all the blue ones seem to.
Got a towbar that I bought last week too (before I decided to strip it.... doh!)
Anyone want anything? The pic is from when I first bought it, it looks quite different now (several years on!)
And these pics are from a few minutes ago - everything is dusty!
