I had a mk3 Supra turbo auto and it was a complete joy to drive, it really didn't take anything away from the fun factor and added so much to the daily commute
I'd love a v8 Soarer auto - so much so i'm now scouring eBay, damn these threads...

Would you consider a Soarer? I believe they share the same platform (though don't quote me on that) 3L na 4L V8 (which would be my choice) 2.5L turbo Lots of choice, much cheaper

I always buy the cheap stuff and have had no problems whatsoever
I figure they have to pass some sort of legal requirement so its all good.
I have never found them to warp, squeal, judder etc and have been using the pikiest stuff for what, 15 odd years...

Can't agree with 'executive wibblepoo' label My Luxo Barge is a sleeper in every sense of the word. Comfortable, smooth, serene and a wonderful place to be BUT stab the throttle, and well over 300bhp & 400 torques is ready to put most things to shame. All for under 3k I thought this forum promotes the following... If you have nothing positive to say, say NOTHING? Just saying Your car is nothing like a sleeper! If I pulled up next to a Merc coupe I would EXPECT it to not be slow! How are people not getting this? Take your 300bhp and 400 torques and put them into a Talbot Samba on the other hand...

would you spend 3K on the above as a sleeeper That is exactly what I'd spend £3k on if I wanted a sleeper!

Everyone appears to just be naming already quick cars
Saab turbo Executive wibblepoo A fecking 3l turbo aristo ffs
These are not cars I'd pull up next to in something I deemed quick and not give a second glance at
If it was a 300bhp Austin a35 on the other hand...

This thread confuses me
There are no factory sleepers as people will know what they are capable of. Merc and BMW's, despite being vile executive tat are expected to be fast (even though 99% aint) so can be ruled out
I'm guessing you're asking what's already been done? What's a popular conversion so well documented?
I'm thinking vtec'd mini, redtop Nova and vvti metro kind of thing?

A live cartridge in an alarm mine wouldn't be a good idea without serious modification It'd just explode everywhere, there's nothing to hold or direct the explosion, the cartridge is only flimsy it needs to be put inside a close fitting tube as it would be in a shotgun.... You could make one to use hilti nail gun cartridges instead of blanks, if you use the black ones they are very loud It wouldn't really explode everywhere, it wouldn't particularly do much at all, I doubt it would even burn all of the powder charge; and you'd have to be stood pretty damn close to the angry end for it to do any damage anyways. I was saying it would be massively frowned upon (in a police/firearms kinda way) having live firing ammo rigged up - which is how I read Kabmans post.

A friend has the doors of his barn rigged to fire a shotgun cartridge into an oil drum. Alarm mines are legal, using blanks (which actually aint very loud) (Though there is then the fact you could be sued for tripping over the wire or hearing damage - no seriously) Having them fire a live cartridge, even into a contained area is gonna land you in a whole heap of wibblepoo...

I always blank mine when putting it online. You never know who is looking at it. Also prevents plate cloning too. Does it really work though? I mean literally it took me 3 mins to be able to say T5*8 *AD Is the plate on your old Mira Turbo I think people get a little para over these sorts of things, as mentioned your plate and thousands of others are seen every day...

I pick this little beauty up tomorrow I have something very very special planned for it, but you'll have to wait and see... I guarantee it will not be your average Jeep replica
