Model: Nissan Micra K11 Year: 1996 Mileage: 113k Tax: None MOT: June 2012 Location: Near Scalford, Melton mowbray Price: now sold Contact details: PM or 07989 545 860 between 9am-9pm Additional Information: 1 litre automatic, we've owned this for 3 or 4 years and it's been very reliable. It needed some welding doing to the passenger sill which I did and then it passed. Present MOT, a few old MOTs and V5 all present. The good new crossmember fitted (i'm told they can be a weak point), CD player, new resister pack for the heater fan, new heater fan motor The bad Red paint fading, esp on roof. No dents but a few scratches and scuffs. Generally tatty, photos make it look better than it is. Gear selector is a bit stiff. Front passenger seat has something wrong with the tilt mechanism so it won't tilt. MOT Advisories: anti-roll bar linkage has slight play, rear brake lines slightly corroded, general corrosion. Overall: scruffy but cheap to run ![](http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/6790/11062011036.jpg) ![](http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/6453/11062011037.jpg) ![](http://img560.imageshack.us/img560/1021/11062011038.jpg) ![](http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/7362/11062011039.jpg) ![](http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/6383/11062011040.jpg) ![](http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/4576/11062011041.jpg) ![](http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/6022/11062011042.jpg) ![](http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/9681/11062011043.jpg) ![](http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/5975/11062011044.jpg) ![](http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/5783/11062011045.jpg) ![](http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/7706/11062011046.jpg)

Model: 740 Year: 1989 Mileage: 187k Tax: 31/08/11 MOT: 26/09/11 Location: Waltham on the wolds near Melton mowbray, Leics (LE14) Price: SOLD Contact details: PM or 'my RR user name at sent dot com' I've owned this car for a year (since 175k) and it's been fantastic. Stuck on the M5 in snow for 9 hours, towing cars and trailers, 600 mile round trips and loading to the brim with stuff and it's not missed a beat. I need to get rid as my girlfriend can only drive autos and we need a new family car (plus I generally have too many cars) Oh and it's a 5 speed manual with a 2.0 petrol engine (B200E) Good points: New ignition module, new water pump, new w/pump and alternator belts, new battery, 4 new Kumho tyres with lots of life left, 4 x 940 turbo alloy wheels fitted, new brake pads all round, new fuel filler cap hinge, 2 oil and filter changes in the last 10k. Boot spaaaaaaaace. Niggles & bad points: Last MOT it had 2 advisories: front indicator lens cracked and windscreen starting to de-laminate, it's also now got a chip on the passenger side, not sure if it'll pass or not. Missing parts of the interior, I took out all the sound deadening carpet which weighed the equivalent of a small planet. Headlining taken out due to sagging. Fuel pump relay is bypassed with a switch, I'm not sure what is wrong with the relay/wiring and I didn't have time to investigate. CD player wired up but not properly fitted and the CD mode spits out the CD instead of playing it. Idles a little high after cold starting (about 1400-1500) before settling down when warmed up. Small patch of rust on rear driver side passenger door, few bumper scrapes and the odd bubble, a small ding on driver side rear arch but no major dents Boot lid was stuck shut when I got it, I've freed it up but you either need to open it from inside or someone needs to be standing by the boot as you unlock it (I've hooked up a solenoid to the mechanism but it only stays open for a second) Fuel gauge is erratic (speedo, rev counter and water temp all work) In summary: mechanically fine but tatty inside with a few niggles hence price. ![](http://img585.imageshack.us/img585/324/03082011167.jpg) ![](http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1302/03082011168.jpg) ![](http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/633/03082011169.jpg) ![](http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/6590/03082011170.jpg) ![](http://img594.imageshack.us/img594/8969/03082011171.jpg) ![](http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/2025/03082011172.jpg) ![](http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/4567/03082011173.jpg) ![](http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/7207/03082011174.jpg) ![](http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/7690/03082011175.jpg) ![](http://img810.imageshack.us/img810/838/03082011176.jpg) ![](http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/2522/03082011177.jpg) ![](http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/5125/03082011178.jpg) ![](http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/130/03082011179.jpg) ![](http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/3814/03082011180.jpg) ![](http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/5295/03082011181.jpg) ![](http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/1022/03082011182.jpg)

I've found the WCW Sting wrestling figure, a magic wand, an old vw beetle keyring, and a spanner. The spanner was in a bodged panel, as in in it. A previous owner needed to do some bodyfilling and must have been running low and used a spanner in the gap before adding filler.

That bulldog! ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) coolest thing I've seen in ages. I worked on a remote farm in wales last year, the farmer had an old 4WD zetor. Most of the cab and bodywork had gone or was rusting away but mechanically it ran well and it got used hard ![](http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/2435/zetorh.jpg) ![](http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/7625/zetor2.jpg)

Thanks for the info, Paul. Looks like if I keep the BW35 it'll be cheap short term but in the long run it'll be a pain for long journeys and cost a lot more in derv if the diff ratio is 4+ and the top gear in the box is 1:1. Decision time...

Nice work, especially on the bodywork ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Btw, seeing as you're having to sort out the bellhousing, is it not worth also fitting a later o/d equipped Volvo autobox, which would be a much better unit than the one originally fitted. Even when new, that BW35 autobox wasn't considered to be a great match to the B18/B20. Thanks ^_^ Yeah I looked briefly into other volvo auto boxes, there's a few reasons I stuck with the BW. It was free, no wiring, no need to do more fabrication in terms of mounts or modding the prop, speedo will carry on working as normal, and the colomn shift will still link straight up. The autobox from a 960 looks complicated (has it's own ecu?) but I'm not sure of auto boxes between the BW35 and the 960. If there's one that would be easy and cheap to install then i'm all ears for sure ^_^ Do you know what volvos had an o/d autobox? 200/700/900? Yeah that sort of thing, that kind of colour too, looks great ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) I'd like to use copper coolant pipes if possible, i'm not sure what the injection lines are made of, if they could be replicated in copper too that would be awesome ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) what's that lister engine going in?

I've decided to go for an engine swap to a turbo diesel with mechanical injection. XUD9TE fitted the bill nicely, more or less the same BHP as the engine it's replacing with the option of upping it easily. I'm planning to have everything on display, I love the look of the fuel pump and the fuel lines. I'd quite like to make it look as if it's a period engine (a bit like this cosworth engine in a model T ford Link to piccy, almost a marine/canal boat engine feel to it (might sound weird but I've got the exact look I want in my head and I'm going for it ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) ) More rot replacement ![](http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/6184/01052011080.jpg) ![](http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/8691/01052011081.jpg) ![](http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/7108/01052011082.jpg) ![](http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/5492/01052011083.jpg) Underseal comes off very easily and it's done a pretty good job ![](http://img860.imageshack.us/img860/5918/01052011086.jpg) Torque convertor on the B20 ![](http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/2669/10052011011f.jpg) Dash out ![](http://img860.imageshack.us/img860/149/11052011018.jpg) Stripping engine bay ![](http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/515/11052011019.jpg) ![](http://img864.imageshack.us/img864/8074/13052011027.jpg) New engine: XUD9TE from a citroen ![](http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/9005/13052011029.jpg) ![](http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/7987/21052011061.jpg) B20 and XUD ![](http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/4138/13052011033.jpg) Paint removal ![](http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/9047/13052011034.jpg) ![](http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/7144/17052011041.jpg) New drivers panel ![](http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/4872/17052011043.jpg) To go here ![](http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/9091/17052011044.jpg) The last of my volvos to bring over to new place ![](http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/6788/14052011035b.jpg) XUD flywheel ![](http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/6489/15052011037.jpg) B20 auto flywheel ![](http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/3124/15052011038.jpg) Replicating bolt pattern on to new flywheel ![](http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/5307/21052011057.jpg) ![](http://img593.imageshack.us/img593/2634/21052011059.jpg) Gear ring taken from XUD flywheel and welded onto new flywheel ![](http://img862.imageshack.us/img862/664/23052011063.jpg) On the XUD, I made a 6mm spacer that fits underneath it to bring it in line with the starter teeth ![](http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/4559/25052011001mhhw.jpg) Since that pic i've bolted on the torque convertor, just need to finish the bellhousing and I can get it trial fitted in the car and make some engine mounts New arrival - milling machine ^______^ ![](http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/4829/04062011018.jpg) A Herbert. A dirty Herbert. ![](http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/716/04062011020.jpg) I thought my pillar drill was big. Well it is really, it's very hard to lift on my own. The Herbert, from reading on the net, is 900kg. I'm still no entirely sure how I managed to load it on and off the trailer. To move it across the workshop I used a huge crowbar, took about an hour ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) ![](http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/48/04062011023.jpg) Milling bellhousing nice and flat, then i'll replicate the borg warner gearbox bolt patterns in 10mm ally and weld that on. ![](http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/8562/13062011050.jpg) I got the TK out the other day to start it up/blow out the cobwebs ![](http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/4293/10062011031.jpg) Needs another MOT then hopefully a trip to scotland! ![](http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/7241/10062011033n.jpg)

Aww gorgeous kitty! Reading about you passing COF and seeing 'on the road' pics inspired us to start our TK up today and give it a good spring clean. Then we got the tape measure out and started thinking... ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Plus we want to go back to blighty maybe next year for a bit- buy up all the cheap rotaries give benzine some pointers on his housetruck revamp in return for cake, coffee and car mags ;D
