Decided to go to the Supercar Day at Wilton House down in Wiltshire on Sunday. I had mixed expectations, based on it being a Pistonhead organised show, with a focus on new exotica.
I knew, as soon as I was awoken by the sounds of a Supercar convoy going past our house that I had to go, however.
I stood on the pavement as an unparalleled convoy of cars drove through, with the sound of V8s, V10s and V12s bouncing off the walls of the houses. Wow, I felt like a kid again!
AC Cobra, several Lamborghini Gallardos, Murcielago, Muira, Ferrari 308, 288 GTO, 458, F50, Jag XJ220, new Mclaren....it just kept going
They were off to Gurston Down hillclimb before the main show - if only I had known, I would have been there to view.
Anyway, the show was a nice surprise.
The supercars were rather annoyingly sat behind ropes, so you couldn't get too close. There was also a little bit of the 'City boys showing off the size of their bonuses' but it was for Charity and people got a kick out of the cars on show, so I should be less cynical.
The show extended to some nice retro flavoured stuff too which I hadn't expected.
A beautiful setting, some good weather and local ale tents and it was a great event. I can see this really expanding, it is only its 3rd year I think so I recommend it to anyone on here.
Anyway, enough waffle and on with some pics of the retro side of the show -
