I'm just having a potter around on ebay. Looking at what affordable wheels i could throw on the MR2 - not sure what the offset is, something a bit wider would be nice. the 4x100 tresure chest hunt is new to me, any suggestions off the currents lots? I considered new Wellers like blownimps yet 13's might look wierd when standard is 14 inch

They're 4x100, ET35-38, I'm pretty sure. Superleggeras work well: but they might not be cheap. I also saw one recently on what I think were Corolla T-Sport alloys, which worked well. Mk3 MR2 alloys seem to be popular, too. These could work...

Interesting. I will eventually give the whole car a crazy makeover with any luck. Mk3 wheels and yaris jobbies are a popular, or well known additon with the mk1ers. I'd chuck wellers on if they were 14's or 15's, Maybe 13's being steel might clear the brakes and not look too daft with tyres.
4x100's are quite popular, so maybe theres some random, less obvious bad boys i could throw on.

A 'good one ' is over 1k typically, only a matter of time till the tin worm gets it still £500+ should get something ok if you don't mind sorting the rust. thats how i see it anyway. I've only got quotes for it as a second car, reasonable though a £100 20% less that the V8 3door, but thats obvious! cheap but outta budget - from portugal..

The following is from my own experiance...
MR2 MK1's wheel size is:
PCD: 4X100, Offset: 35mm - 38mmm C Bore: 54
The same dimensions as Fwd 1980s and 1990's Toyota Corolla, Paseo, Starlet, Yaris.
The MR2 MK1 is the only rear-wheel- drive Toyota (to my knowledge) that has a a PCD of 4x100 all other rwd Toyotas (and Datsuns) of the 70's and 80's are a PCD of 4x114.3mm (4.5inch).
Warning! ... Although some Volkswagen are PCD of 4x100 the offset is around 28mm so would be totally WRONG!
Also as a side note (emergency measure) 1980 and 1990s Ford wheel nuts/threads will fit 1980's Toyota (although Ford Wheels a PCD 4X108 !!!) threads/nuts ...ALTHOUGH I recomend you make sure nut is a correct fit for wheel
