Guys, you're making me blush! ;D Nadaman and orangecords, i'd love to see some pictures! I've been busy and haven't had the time to get some tyres on the wellers (they're acctually mangels, i'm quite sure it's the same wheel made by a scandinavian company) But as i stumbled upon these i just couldn't help myself... ![](http://kuvablogi.com/nayta/prev/img3077246.jpg) And to be honest 6j is way too narrow ;D These are just 7j, but with ridiculous offset. The mangels may be run on the rear if these stick out too much, but i'll do my best to get them to fit. Very stoked. But they'll probably not arrive until next week. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png)

Them wheels are going to look great ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Here's a couple of pics of mine, 1st with the 15" steels, ![](http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j282/nadaman72/STA50055.jpg) And with 18's, sadly only a photoshop, the only photo i had is trapped on a long dead mobile phone ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) they were a bit tight on the wheel arches at the front but I'm sure i could have made them work ![](http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j282/nadaman72/darksky.jpg) I traded the tina for my current Granada but its still owned by my mate so i may talk him into selling it back one day ;D

Finally got some tyres fitted today, and nothing else worked out as planned. ;D ![](http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/9856/47708930.jpg) Firstly the arches are sitting on the tires in the rear. I think i'll be able to get them to fit though with some persuasion. ![](http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/5121/73463226.jpg) Persuading tools to the right. ![](http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/4564/34255313.jpg) Secondly the car is unsteerable ;D Here it is at steerable height. ![](http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/9527/78780041.jpg) Not too much of a difference, but still a step in the wrong direction. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) So I have a few ways of approaching this. 1. And the coolest way, would be to cut away the arches and fit plastic ones. Or weld on new steel ones a bit higher up, as the ones on it are quite shagged. Lots of work. 2. Fit some proper springs i've wanted for a long time, or coilies if I can find some cheap one. Anybody have any measurements at hand? 3. Get some lower tires. Making the car less-than-matchbox-on-it's-side low. Would also need matching for the rear or it'll look odd imho. The problem is finding low profile 15" in my pricerange. I.e. free. I might have two 205/50 tucked away somewhere, but they're a bit on the wide side. 4. And what will probably happen is that i'll get a few of those rubber things to go between the springs as a "temporary" solution. 5. And what i'd love to do is to band all four tires inward, to get some stretch without going to ridiculously narrow and rare tires. This will hopefully happen at a later date. The rims will get a quick fix up, the 5x5" holes welded shut, the fake rubber "bolts" changed to black real ones and a ghetto rechrome by spray paint. At least where the holes were. Your thoughts?

Just hack the arch out with a hammer and chisel, will add to the look.

I don't think taunuses were ever made as p100's, only cortinas, thus we never got them :/ zykotec - the thought has crossed my mind ;D Ditch - I'm only going to respray the part where i'll weld the old holes shut, so I hope it'll do. And I have seen things done well with spray chrome, probably with the expensive stuff though.. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Yes you can polish chrome, but the chrome will be ruined after the welding, and the plugs for the holes won't be chrome anyway funkyhunk - I'd LOVE to throw some on it if I just could find some! A friend mentioned he had some of a pickup, i'll look into it.

Cortinas are the same as Taunuses' (at least the two last generations) So P100 wings will fit, but you probably have to get them from England. Just cutting out stock arches and rewelding them higher up would be great too.

I know but the wings still fit if you can get somone over herr to get some? just an idea we use over here a lot saves bashing the cr@p out of the wings

Wheels look fuggin great so will be worth the work which ever method you choose. With practice I'm sure you could turn using just the hand brake no?

It's looking totally friggin badass, I love this car. Can't think of a better style of wheel tbh, I even think the big tyres really suit it too. Don't fit lower profile ones I just don't think it would work as well. Can you not just roll the arches out to get steering? I'm not sure bolt on arches would work......... but I'd like to be proved wrong ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

I'd LOVE to throw some on it if I just could find some! Check out this here thread: retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=pfsw&action=display&thread=66146Car is looking mean by the way, really getting there ;D I reckon you should cut the arches first, see what it looks like and if you're not happy then buy some of those babies and rivet them on the old girl. I think it will be most excellent either way.

Huge thanks guys Sadly no progress at all lately ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) I remembered that thread, gave it a half arsed attempt at finding it, but now I have no other choice than to send rangerbob a pm! ;D If postage works out "cheap enough" (i'm a cheap curse word) I might just have to prove robinxr4i wrong! ;D The front arches are rolled to hell and back, if i'd cut them up to roll them out more, they'd start looking really weird.. And I can't cut them up, beacuse if i'd follow the outer arch line i'd get huge gaps in front and rear of the wheel, and if i'd just cut around the wheel i'd get a weird line where the outer line of the arch goes. And the car wouldn't look as low anymore either I'd also lose all stability in the arch.
