That top one is truly hideous,.. you know you want it ,... The bottom is tip-top also,.. just needs a nice late J beastie engine in it,.. What about the Passat? hehe

Yeah, I know. I should just buy that Passat and be done with it. My only thinking is that they have already done what I would do to, so I am not sure I would ever be able to consider it my car. Does that make any sense? Probably not. When I bought the Toymota from Street Machine, it was a wickedy woo piece of kit, but I never got attached to it as it was someone elses work... Think I may go see that CROWN tomorrow or Thursday. Did the CD arrive?

I'll find out at lunch,.. my postman is always late in the morning.
I understand the attatchement thing,.. its like Bernie's Ghia,.. whoever buys that will always be driving Bernie's Ghia.
I reckon the B110 is a good option for some tom-foolery,.. Is the CROWN closer to you?

Yup CROWN up in Oxford - about an hour from here.
Must also have a word with DatsunCherry, as he seems to have interesting things kicking about! Whatcha got sir?
My mate works at a Benz dealership and gets some astonishing trade-in deals sometimes, so I may also have a word with him.
Here is my criteria:
Rear wheel drive Relatively rust free Not ford/vauxhall! £500 max budget if big engine (will need to buy LPG bits), or £750 if small engine! It has to be able to do 300 motorway miles/week.
Come on then chaps, lets have some ideas of actual cars for sale!

The CROWN is cool, I've been watching it myself...although it would be sacrilege to change the paint - and a crime against taste not to! The Passat sounds cool - although I've not seen it in the flesh...isn't it slightly 'rodded? IMO a longer-term goal for it would be more like this Audi: Oh, hang on, what's that behind it?

I love that green Audi! That Passat behind looks interesting... A bit like this one:

How about this Granada 2.8 Ghia X down in Luton? It's going for £500 on ebay. Seems like a bargain to me, for a show car, but I bet it'll go well over the £500 it is now, so maybe not.

Have booked in with the guy to go and see that CROWN after work on Thursday... Ooo.
Apparently, that paint was done for the Queens jubilee celebrations, and the car is called the CROWN's CROWN. Clever huh?! Luckily it is just poster paint, and was never laquered over, so it should come off with a healthy dowsing of thinners... Ah, we'll see.

hmmmm.....I'm gonna get my ugly fugly green Cherry MOT'd and sell that. Loads of potential! Pros: solid for a '78 Datsun (ie no structural rust) 1171cc tunable engine will be cheap Cons: Semi automatic sounds like a cow sometimes. FWD If thats not tickling your pecker, then I'll ask around for other beasties. There was a £700 510 estate in need of work and a £400 120Y without MOT a few weeks back but I think they've been sold. That wierdy CROWN has been on Ebay 3 times over the years - same seller I think too. Its not far from me....but it looks like a shrewd buy for that price. I'm temporarily working in Reading at the moment and my dull dull days are occasionally brightened up by this..... The car is owned by a nice enthusiatic lady who has a liking for these fantastic little cars. This looks like it was one of the last to be sold in the UK. I had a 204 for a few weeks. The rust on it was incredible.

That sticker is PROPER cool - I share a similar passion for such things...
How much does the back of that Peugeot look like a Maxi! There's an old Japanese K-Car van thing that has a similar rear - I think it's a Honda - but we never got them over here!

It is maxi-esque isn't it? I think this car was introduced in 1969, so the maxi came first! I regret not taking a close up of my Datsun dealership sticker, before the sun got to it

OMG! That is stunning! 7 seats too...you could always buy that, and I'd swap it for my Cressy! (maybe without the wheels though!) I'm very much liking that car.
