don't dry steer I find on my VW T3/T25 anything above a 185 section tyre on the front gets hard work.

YO Mr plums! i rang the guy i picked your gearbox up from about the engine, he's getting onto his mate to see if he still has it. Ive sourced a pair of new front wings, doorskins, and a tailgate, as the others were chocked full of wag or dented, and repaired the bench seat and got a pair of new door windows cut. Need to crack on really but ive been messing about getting the wizard back on the road.... Mini is a big collection of parts awaiting its turn after ive got the T25 running again and the pickup done... something for the winter sir? apologies for the thread hijack* Mike

New windows cut? that sounds interesting. In glass or plastic? Who does that then?

when the truck arrived it had an ill fitting piece of plastic as a drivers side window, they're flat so i removed the passenger side one and took it to the local glass merchants, who cut me a pair to size, toughened them and polished the edges... all for the princely sum of 36 quid. marvellous

Power steering? Pah! Stop being such a tart!
Although to be fair, when I went from my mk4 polo (with pas) to my mk3 (without pas) I complained about it at first. You get used to it quickly though, and now I prefer it without.
Get some 15x8+9s on that passat. ;D

I had 225s on my T25, it was hard work - but worth it! ;D
Suspension geometry theory would suggest a nose-down stance would equate to easier steering due to castor angles and the like, but I'm not an engineer so feel free to ask someone who is.

Hah hah hah hah haha.....
Nose down on some cars heavies up the steering.
My Ventora is one of ther few cars I've driven withouut PAS which I think needs it. But now I'm wondering if its a fault with the rack... Apparently someone found something in an old tech bulletin about them distorting the rack and them needing reshimming. Never knewe that and I've been cussing that steerring for 15 years... LOL
Some of the big yank tanks have no PAS - if they can manage so can you!
