Good day today ;D - sold the Yaris I bought for my son (but decided not to keep due to classic car insurance being so much cheaper for 17 yr olds) for a healthy profit. Then, on the way home from work I popped in to look at a car I'd spotted on e-bay last night as it was close to where I was working today. 30 minutes later I was the owner of this................ it's a 1970 Clubman 850cc estate, one owner and 65,000 miles from new. Belonged to an old boy who made his mark on the car It's got every 1970's accessory you can think of - rows of guages for everything, oil temp, oil pressure, ammeter, rev counter, and it seems like a seperate switch for each of the spotlights But, its solid as a rock, and he's just put it back on the road after 21 years 'resting' in his garage and fitted complete new brakes, new exhaust and a few other bits so now has 12 mths MOT and 12 mths FREE tax Lovin' it Hope my son shares my enthusiasm when he comes home and sees what I've bought him

Currently driving a '68 Karmann Ghia as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!

That should definitely have a 1000cc engine. Check the engine number, 99........ means it's a thou!

That's quite a find and certainly far more fun and interesting than a Yaris.

OK, now I get it..... for our son.
Very nice place to start, and if the engine is indeed an 850 , then happy days for insurance too.

Cool. However it looks like it's missing an essential "extra". A steering-column lowering bracket. Makes all the difference to the driving position.
