Reckon you've been chasing a pic of one of these for a while It DOES exist (Ultra-pov non-body colour nose) Note also the non-internally adjustable mirrors and no side body trim... Either that or it's a replacement that someone couldn't be arsed to paint.....

uber-early Y-plate too, Cortinas were still rolling off the production line then! Reckon the black front was just to try and dull the nose down, get back some punters scared off by the futuristic looks?
I love povo-spec though, really intersting the lengths they'll go to to cheapen a car - like the mk2 fiestas that had two different designs of dashboard depending on how rich you were.

I remember the launch of the Sierra as if it was yesterday, i don't think i can ever remember any car causing as much as a furore, not even the new Metro.... I never ever saw an unpainted griil on any of the Sierras ( i saw more than most living in S.E Essex). The pov spec was rare then and i remember the very early models but not one of them ever had a grill that was unpainted, did they really leave the factories like that? The pic is an early spec but the production was in full swing, all Y plated Cortinas were the last of the marque, most of them were special edition models, two tone paint, Ghia trim and called curse word names like Carousel................well they had to shift the last of them didnt they. Strange, i went through 3 Sierras, loved them for their comfort and performance. I never ever considered a pov spec, no one else wanted them either except perhaps for cabbies and tight arses...... Now they are cool, collectable, must have cars. What a crazy world we live in!

Do you have a lot of old ford brochures? I was intreuged by a mk3 Escort I found at the scrappers. It was so povvo it didnt have a parcel shelf, no heated rear window, 2 heater vents instead of the 4 you get on even the 'L' model, no headrests, but better than that, A FULL VINYL INTERIOR! Dirt! Still want to know what model it was!

Sierra is brilliant! Amazing it hasn't even been 'upgraded' with some tacky wheel trims. Looks like some tight-ass Norfolk person who first bought it, judging by the reg'n. I remember a red estate from years ago with the black nose. Street, Escort (not even Popular!) like this you mean?

I cant get over how clean that sierra is unless that roofrack is the beginning of some 'euro look' mods! ;D It looks bloody old though and curse word (in a good way). thats povo for you though. Its still only worth approx £150 on bay, if the right buyer is watching!
