Haha oops! I mean CBT!! ;D As far as I know there is no problem having no front guard, I have no stabiliser on it and although I wasnt goin too fast or anything it didn't feel unstable, think I'm gonna keep the forks as they are for now. Are you fitting the stabiliser to yours? Yeah see my thread for updates ;D

How did you find the clutch? Mine seems to slip quite a bit but I'm not sure whats normal....

Seemed to be ok - not sure how it copes at high revs but it let's you blip the throttle a bit and sneaks forward quite well - didn't feel like it slipped but I didn't concentrate on the clutch as much as trying to keep it idling - I'll have another play today

Anyone know if there is a minimum size for a moped numberplate? Or as long as the fonts are legal size and shape the plate size doesn't matter? Going to order mine shortly

Wish I did! Day-glo yellow rectangle for me!
Had a good search and can't find anything definitive. It's more to do with the letters than the plate size - luckily mines a 6 digit number so I think that means I can legally fit a smaller plate although still not sure. My laptop keeps crashing so I can't order one at the moment anyway - I'll keep researching plate size on my phone till it allows me to buy one!

Got any motorbike shops near ya? Might be worth an ask before you do anything definitive.
I think halfords have the rules and regs to hand too....
Have you done anything in the way of an ignition switch?

As far as I know there is no problem having no front guard I've MOT'd peds before without a front mud guard without any problem, I did ask the last tester I used & he said 'if you don't mind getting wet legs that's fine with me' ;D About the numberplate size, I'm sure there is a legal minimum size.. As Restowagen said, Halfrauds have all the gumpf on it regarding size of plate/font etc..............Or just have a goozy here; www.theplatemarket.com/display_of_registration_numbers.php

Hmmm I'll call halfords by me and see what they say! Not done anything bout an ignition switch - do you mean for security? Think I'll get a chain and chain it up if I leave it anywhere!
I did try and cut and shut my original mudguard to keep curse word off the engine but the tire is just TOO wide!

Lubed up the throttle grip and it's loads better now, also set the idle and managed to get it started much quicker although it's still a bit of a rigmarole to get it going what with having no pedals. Went first time and ran great but I had to run with it, jump on and pull the lever not the most practical way! I'm going to try and adjust the clutch lever tomorrow so it's easier to pull it tighter and then maybe Ill be able to walk with it and start it rather than sprint! I'll look into swapping some wires in the switch too. Had some problems with the ridiculous neighbours round the corner apparently running a moped for ten minutes with some mates is worthy of coming out your house, walking round the corner, folding your arms and shaking your head disapprovingly these are the same tits that complained about my capri when I was working on it in the middle of the day on a Saturday Anyway! Gonna fit the back light tomorrow as well, couple of tiny jobs then I'll MoT it. Gonna get it mot'd and taxed before I do my CBT so I can ride it straight away. Hope to do all this asap.

Had a look at your thread, doing the bearings and clutch etc.. At least you'll know it's good that way I guess! Glad to hear you have an understanding girlfriend! These projects always seem to escalate in severity!!
If these neighbours are any more unreasonable than at the moment I'm going to enjoy curse word them off. If they act like they are doing for any longer it might help me make the decision on the capri between full system with a silencer to a pipe coming off the turbo and sticking directly out the front wing....

Very nice, must be a good feeling to finally have it running. I know what you mean with the 2-stroke smell, i haven't done anything 2-stroke related for the about 7-8 years, untill last year when i had to help a friend get his scooter running. About starting it, i have a better experience just running next to it because the way you're doing it (sitting on it) you don't get enough speed to get enough revolutions from the engine.

Cheers mate it's very good to have it finally running! ;D Problem is, the compression is so high that if I run with it and pull the clutch lever it just locks the back wheel! It needs some weight on it to start it, so I've been runnin and then jumpin on it then pulling the lever which to be honest is a pain! How do people fit kick starts to these? Or maybe even a pull start like a chainsaw?

Or maybe even a pull start like a chainsaw? I think it would be difficult. I'm pretty sure the whole case is different on a kickstart E50. It goes behind the clutch bell, And the starter level goes against that. I think its ratcheted too. Theres not enough room in our e50's.. You got your decomp cable connected?
