Mine: Awesome bit of kit. Such an ace cruiser Not lacking in equipment either - electric heated leather seats, electric rear seats, front and rear fogs, electric windows, electric tilt'n'slide sunroof, cruise control, headlight washers, ABS, PAS, air-conditioning, heated front and rear windscreens, rear wash/wipe, intermittent wipers, trip computer, stopwatch, equaliser for the stereo, puddle lights, pneumatically adjustable seats and more........Madness! I reckon it'd have been a good alternative to the Quattro in Ashes to Ashes Maybe one for a one-off episode?

my dad had a really odd specced one when i was younger, spec of a Ghia but a 2.0 GL with all sorts of extra kit quite random. Was white and we towed the caravan everywhere with it and it took us all over the country (all 6 of us!) Wrote it off in a fight with a skip lorry (back in 96 according to DVLA!!) RIP D227RTW Replaced briefly with a shed of a Sierra and then a brand new Galaxy Loved them though definitely underrated cars. facelifted models looked alot sharper though..

I hated them when they were new.
I'm warming to them now though.
Just warming mind, but the OP's right, they're getting rarer and need saving for posterity.
I have a couple of quid in my pocket, where's that eBay?

I like them but honestly it just looks like a big sierra That's 'cos it is! Rear beam is interchangeable, front suspension pickup points all measure up the same too. Mates have had quite a few Cossie ones, prefacelift saloon is the daddy for me though.

This used to be mine! 2.9 4x4 What a f**king idiot i was to sell that, ended up a donar car for a scorpio, they wanted to build a Scorpio 24v 4x4. I paid a whole £56 for it (Carcraft trade auction) with half a tank of fuel (which didnt last very long at all) irony being i was 19 at the time, they WOULD insure me on this car the same week i got turned down on a 1.3 Ford Escort, i needed to be 21 for the Escort! Had a problem with the TPS tho, and me being new to car electrocnics (all carbs before then) i had trouble finding out what it was, only a couple of years later i figured out what the problem was! lol

My grandad had one of these when I was a nipper, but I reckon the last one of these I sat in, and probably the last half dozen I saw were all hearses/funeral cars.

theres an older 2.8 v6 one lying behind a shed at a farm up near me... would be amazing to get runnin...but i think most of the undedrside has collapsed due to bein there for 3 years..but is recoverable.... unlike the 106 with no chassis, the cors b with the back missing, and the mk4 fiesta in 2 halves...oh and the destroyed toyota hilux (the undestroyable car, comes from many years of hardcore field fun, and several rolls

One of my mates' dad had a glorious one a few years back. May still have it. In gold/bronze with brown leather interior. So comfy.

I think they're in that phase a lot of cars go through where suddenly they've disappeared from modern traffic. I'd totally forgotten they did a saloon version until I saw one a few months back.
I think the bug-eye Scorpio is much more unloved though.

I've had quite a lot, my dad still uses bug eye Scorps as Taxis, he's got two estates at the moment, i've had a couple of 24v saloons, one converted to manaul that donated its engine and box to my Cortina, blinding cars the scorps, bugeye 2.3 is the one to have, has 150bhp but will still hit 40mpg on a run, 24v is lovely but needs a maunal box and will drink fuel when you put your foot down.

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.

Apart from Roger Blount?'s Pro Show one i've never seen a properly modified one (apart from chavved up). I mean, they're 5x112 and there are a millionty suspension options to choose from so getting the stance right would be easy.

I dunno what route would be best to go with one really - any additional body mods would make it look too busy, although pretty much every car looks great with the right wheels and the right stance.
