I approve very strongly of this. If it ends up looking anything like the artists impression it'll be epic. Pic reminds me a hell of a lot of the old street machine type ones too.

It's the love child of Vaughn Gitting Junior who is a pro drifter and is said to be on the track after SEMA!

Looks great, but who would put big bends into the upper suspension arms?
Engine looks ace, what is it?

Looks great, but who would put big bends into the upper suspension arms? Yeh the suspension has the usual "have you even looked at a suspension design book" look to it that unfortunatley so many US Muscle and Rods have, a lot of show, without much good theory behind it. *Rant mode on* I know that sounds harsh, it's just a simple engineers opinion of it - good looking shape and design of bits of metal welded together, does not equal good engineering. That whole inboard mounted shock arangment made from billet alloy is showing off what a CNC machine can do, not the engineering skills of the guys who drew it in CAD *Rant mode off* Looking at the upper arms in particular I guess they had a set of hubs they wanted to use, and putting a bend in them was the only way to package it all - what they should have done is shortend the hub, or used one more suited to the layout dictated by the overall vehicle concept, but whatever, I doubt the car is ment to be the best thing possible around a track, thus picking up on suspension oddness I guess is missing the point...... Of course looks wise both in concept and exicution thats figging awesome! Love the lime green detailing - more of this I say, more ;D

i quite like the idea, It could look really good. I think the rims and arches are going to spoil the look though, seems daft to go blending in all the body mods nice and smoothly and then just screwing those aftermarket looking arches on the side and fitting tyres that are not the right size.

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.

Fantastic car, not really JDM though is it, it's far to good to be burdened by that tag? The only JDM part of it is the afterthought arch extensions. Having said that Blown imp is right - why can't these yanks design susupension layout properly before thay crack on off on their CNC/waterjet machines? Kinda spoils all the other good work gone into it.

another thing i can never work out on builds like this. chassis wise they allways end up with a big box section ladder frame, which yes i know is esay and strong but if your building from the ground up surely a proper space frame would be lighter, stronger and more pleasing to the eye rather than some big square lumps of box section. would at least mean they could have the suspension pick ups tied into the frame properly and had striaght wishbones. you would of thought with it being a drift car it would need decent front end geometry?

Am I the only one thinking it looks best here - without the arch extensions?

Very nice except for the manky tacked on arch extensions, and them aside I cant see what so JDM about it..
Pro touring is what I see.. and I likes what I see (bar the wheel arches natch..)

none of it is actualy JDM, JDM meaning japanese domestic market, standard new cars sold in japan, many better models not sold elsewhere which i think started the tag line with imports. anyway i do like that its a nice direction, even with its funky looking but not amazingly good suspension.

Since when are screw-on arches JDM?
Hell, Paddy Hopkirk was sellin that shiite back in the 60's. You know, for Brit shiite. Outfits like Motion were selling that same shiite for US muscle cars in the 60's too.
In fact, the acronym JDM has nowt to do with "inspired by Japanese tuners". It has to do with OE equipment offered only for the Japanese Domestic Market (hence the acronym). In other words, not for export. The original excitement for JDM parts had to do with getting OE manufacturer take-off or special-order parts shipped to export markets, where some of those parts could enhance boost, or c:r, or cfm flow, or wholesale replace the powerplant of the export version.
What people think JDM means now is "whatever", just like a farmer must wonder why city people snicker when he says "hoe".
