I'm fairly certain I spy the SCCA Cherry in there do you have a big picture of that?

I'm actually thinking about trying to get a job with a Japanese firm in the hope they'll send me to Japan on projects and I can go 510 SSS shopping. This one's lovely! And what is this pseudo race tyre they're all sporting? Looks like a slick with just enough grooves to be legal. Any ideas? These things get sillier every year. I love the style: Great pics. Charlie

Looking forward to meeting a few of you at Ecopa next month! You'll be there? ;D I may have a few questions for you in preparation for our trip if that's OK? EDIT: Ah-ha! I just followed your link, you're our unofficial RR correspondent who went to Hot Olds last year? Are you still planning on doing the Tokyo swap meet and Hot Olds on the same day?

what the hell is with the pink thing, seen ones like it before I'm mistified I think the correct term nowadays is 'garuchan' meaning 'conspicuous'; it's all done with tongue firmly in cheek. *n

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

Can I admit something terrible? I broke an early 140J exactly like this ('cept not so nice) back in 1995. In hindsight it wasn't that bad, but at the time nobody wanted it and I couldn't keep it forever. Still got the panels and the dash, free to a good home.

rmad: Ask away. What dates do you arrive & leave?
I'm torn about what to do. Two shows, 200 miles apart on the same day. I can probably do the swap meet by 12:00 (starts at 10), and get down to Ecopa by 2pm or so. Don't know if I want to get to the Ecopa show that late though, especially as you guys are making the trek all the way over for it. Aaargh.....
Unfortunately I didn't get a pic of the Cherry you refer to this year, but there are a few I have from last years event, as well as one in the car park. I do have one or two of the Hino though. I'll post some more pics in that thread over the next few days & keep you guys posted.

We're arriving (Narita) at 15.45 on Friday 26 May, and then we're staying in Ginza for 3 nights and then flying back out at 13:10 on Monday. I think we're gonna be buying a suitable train pass for the whole trip before we go, including a bullet train trip to Ecopa. Do you have an idea of exactly what (which stations and which rail companies) our Sunday journey entails? I'm currently looking at pass info on this pageAny car-related ideas for visits (dealers, shops, cruises) in our non-NHOA time would be welcome too.

Try this site for travel info grace.hyperdia.com/cgi-english/hyperd01.cgiYour starting station for the Shinkansen will be Tokyo, or Shinagawa. Ginza is between the two, Tokyo is closer. Destination is Aino station. Choose AINO(TOKAIDO) from the drop down menu, enter your departure or arrival time and you're away. The trip is ¥7,650 each way, takes just on two hours. You can walk from Aino stn, about 20-30 mins. I wouldn't bother buying a pass in advance, unless you can get a JR pass from JTB for the UK equivalent of ¥18,000 or less. A JR pass is unlimited travel on nearly everything JR, except the fastest Shinks. I think the shortest is a week though, and they're a little exxy. There's often a cruise night in Yokohama on saturdays, but you need a car to get there (well after last train). I'll look into whether there's one on the night you're in town. I'm off work on friday arvo, working 10-5 on sat, but we can catch up for a bevvy or three anytime other than that.

Thanks Savanna - that's really helpful. It's great to have some inside knowledge! Qwerty: There's two Bellets on Yahoo at the moment: which has a start price of just under £4000 with a reserve not met and no bids. It's been on Yahoo for a while I think. Start price just under £1500, no reserve that I can see and a £2500ish 'desired selling price'. As for importing one, try contacting someone who is importing Skylines, Townace/Lucidas, FTOs or 4x4s - there's a few on ebay. A couple of people have been on the forum who have done it and it always sounds quite simple if you use an agent - but I never quite have the guts to look into it any further!
