What? You sold the injectors and IC? It seems you struck a sweet spot in the 944 as well!
If you need some PAS pipes let me know. The chap who did Rav's pipes happens to be a bloke I see in the pub quite a bit (and a member on here). IIRC he was quite reasonable although I can appreciate for everyone times are not the easiest. It is good to see this is still making progress even if it is the small things (they always seem to be the most annoying!).

Another thing you could do with the mirrors is track down a pair of manual ones. They used them on the 944 cup cars and 924's which weren't spec'd with electric mirrors came with them. (Most UK cars did however) German eBay might be the best place to find them. The base is specific to the 924/44 however the actual mirror body and glass is VW Golf, so getting a fresh looking set will be easy & cheap once you have the bases.

I have already passed on a set of those Felix, as rare and special (and expensive) as they are I don't think they look any better than the original flag mirrors.
Chas, I didn't have them fitted in the new engine, so sold them on as ! am clearing my garage out, lots gone up the tip too!
I had to collect a pizza from town last night, it was raining and the 80 was blocked in so reluctantly I drove this. I got in and felt quite negative about it. The whole way to Dominos I was thinking to myself I need to get rid, the lack of idle on the cold engine didn't help my mindset either.
On the way back I joined the carrigway and was passed by a Black EVO 8 or 9, I didn't go unnoticed and he dropped down a gear and sped up. I took the bait.. despite pizza hanging from mouth, I rolled on the boost. As the wheels span up through the gears and the rear slid all over the place, I was thinking to myself, a Quattro would be a good next car... But then It got some traction and pulled in the EVO, i then had to lift off to avoid the back of it. My next thought was, what a fantastic car.. And that is how my relationship with tis car goes.

i'm still trying to decide what to do with my 944, i came back to the uk and went over to where its stored today and i'm 50/50 atm. I think i'll end up just selling it and buying one in america tbh. Unsure what its worth now tbh or if its just better to break it and sell off the remainder and put the money towards a holiday lol.

Forgive me for being a vulture but I may have been tempted with the IC and injectors (silly I know, but how much is too much?) What other bits do you have knocking around? You can PM me if you wish to save cluttering the thread up .

Chas, the IC and injectors would do nothing for your car. Injectors are not at max duty until 330hp as is IC. I noticed no difference aside from fuel consumption.
I have cleared my garage, (2x estate car loads to the tip) I just have a small box of 944 bits I may need and a short engine. The parts go with the car if and when I sell it. I would like n/s wing painted, the wheels refurbished and then I will see if I can afford a grown ups car or if this is needed to fund one. An Alfa 159 Diesel is what I am looking at.
@acid, if you can afford to buy a manual tidy car - do that. Its not worth the time of money if you can short cut by buying a good one.

^ It was game over, the car threw most of its oil out of its exhaust the day before it was due to go! Thankyou, It was in issue 140 of GT Porsche- The time has come, the 944 scene has grown, lots are being modified and restored and values are climbing. I want to improve the condition of mine while the parts are available and cheapish. The big things like paintwork and mechanical parts don't worry me - they will always be available. But I'm collecting the little things. So I already posted the matching rear seat, Here are a few more- New clock, 968 red hazard switch, new genuine cig lighter, new ash tray, OEM mats. Lights up too glad about this, the old one was minging.. And a new end for the key with a torch (the badge fell off my old one) One of these- The best condition complete tool kit I could find- And I'm pretty sure I now have all the paperwork it would have come with new- And I tracd the previous owners and history, turns out its quite interesting.. This could be the most boring update ever, but I added it to the thread as it was very expensive.

Will always be in my top ten threads on RR.....
Loved the evolution and the end result not much of a Porsche fan but the car changed my opinion on both 924's and 944's and I keep looking at 928's
Slippery slope

Lovely touches I have to say. It's certainly heading more towards a 'Factory/RUF' finish (not that was not before ). Forgive me for asking but were the OEM mats new? I am still pondering over getting a set (I now do regret not keeping the mats out of my S2 (Deep pile Genuine Porsche mats) but hindsight is also a wonderful thing). Sorry for getting all sentimental but your thread may have been one of the reasons why I came back into the '44 fold . It seems that 944 ownership has been a journey with you so far, and for the better. Your brave, congrats on the clock save! I don't have the skill for that and paid silly £ for a clock. If it fails, I know who to send it to now Its nice to see the clock/dash trim is not broken off where it locates at the back of the heater controls, many are and I broke 1 the 1st time I removed one. (not realising there are 2 more screws there) Its amazing how these little jobs tidy a car up, defo the difference between a nice car and a very nice car. As I said in my thread, the 944 interest is growing fast and the little bits may not be so easy to get soon. (not that they are easy or cheap now) Cheers on the compliments, but I reckon you could tackle the clock . Saying that, I am always happy to help a fellow owner . You are not kidding about the little things making a difference. Stupid as it may seem, the car seems less 'tired' for it, and less annoying (having a modern for a daily probably does not help matters!) .

Thanks chaps. Now I have an even bigger head. I doens't get any better than inspiring others, what better can you do with a project car? I like the OEM side of the car, makes it seem a little more genuine it would be cool to build 9 more the same. It has been a spooky and magic relationship with this car, I quite like that its gained its own status. I'm saving for wheels, it will take a while, but I think its last few good pics on azevs were taken yesterday. This is my background now-

Hmmm - the Azev's are so iconic on this car. Can't wait to see what you fit instead. Even though I know I won't be able to afford them - are you going to sell the Azev's?
