I find tools like this on a daily basis as I work in a scrap yard, amazing what people throw away! Most are still in the tool box too Found a couple of vintage cut throat razors that i just got 25 quid for on e-bay! Can't beat a freebie ;D

I've got a pair of those "bent" pliers somewhere (jhand down from my grandad), I've always assumed they were for pulling out nails or similar.

Found this IKEA "Butchers Block" table dumped at my local station in the carpark..... No wheels, so I cut the long legs shorter.... Perfect for the Fretsaw to stand on when I sit in front of it cutting out kids toys (seems there are a few orders coming through after Rav's Gruffalos Kid toys) Also found an Oak drawer in Southampton last week when I worked there.... 15mm thick, so hopefully just about the right size for some Poc Poc's Poc Poc Prototype in Pine. I do continue to be amazed at what gets thrown out by people claiming "poverty"

This has to be the smallest ever entry onto this thread. I did not find it, Nicola found it for me. She works at a Charity shop some afternoons and as we all know weird stuff does come in. Last week a load of stuff came in, much of which was turfed out, and she found this little "Steampunk" head for me. I love it, and being as small as it is, am glad she spotted it in the pile of rubbish and scooped it for me. I trust and hope you guys are impressed with my wife, well I am. She has learned from the best in the business.... ;D

Liking the miniature of Konrad Seusenhofer's Helmet Hi PS, Thanks for the ID. I am amazed that it was made between 1511-14 That shows again that there is nothing new under the sun. Google images and Youtube shows it in much more detail.

Another week with lots of little wins. We are no9 in the road, neighbour at No1 cleared his garage..... and brought around a couple of bits, but also invited me to Skip dive at his place. I found a whole load of silverware (His deceased mums) some crystal ware and fine bone china, all of which I gave to Nicola for Demelza House, which we support along with a couple of other charities. I did keep the bits in the pic below, and Nicola kept a massive "wine glass" as a candle holder. The meters are growing in number as I want to do a "Steam Punk" type setup around the baking oven at the BBQ some time.

Rian - is that a live round? I'm hoping the small dot on the side of the case is a hole and it's just a drill round

Currently driving a '68 Karmann Ghia as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!

To go with the meter you will need some blade switches, white lab coat, an assitant called Igor and lots of sparks and lightening My latest gains are an oxy propane cutting set, a oxy accetelene welding set, m/t oxy and propane bottles with another propane bottle and trolley on the way, and all freemans Also am typing this (badly) on a HTC smart phone I bought from a work mate for 40 when the shops seem to be selling similar used for 100/150 Ttfn Glenn

Latest recycling venture.5 school woodwork benches and 3 wood/metalwork benches so now have 20 feet of bench space and the two people I share with have 10 feet each. The benches came with 16 woodwork vices and 6 metalwork vices. The wood vices are not needed so provided I can work out how to get them off without resorting to the angle grinder they will be up for recycling. So if anyone wants one they will be collect or pony express from south of Glasgow. Ttfn Glenn

Well, as usual, when people get to know you and what you like, I got a PM from Jabbo last week to ask if I would be interested in a couple of Butlers/Belfast sinks? Of course I said yes, as the last one we had as an actively used herb garden at Nicola's old house had been left behind as it was very cracked and rather than break it in transit, we left it for the new owners. So here they are, another bit of history saved from the skip. Thanks Scott, Nicola is very pleased.
