Is the spoiler a original lada one? Yes, but it would not have been fitted to this model. It was reserved for the 1600 and 1300 SL/SLX models which were phased out when Cats became mandatory. Lada streamlined their range to the 1500E Saloon and Estate. The previous owner has drilled holes to fit the spoiler, so I can't really remove it. It suits the looks of the car It's also exactly what i'm looking for for the taunus, if you happen to have a tape measure around next time your near it, i would be forever grateful if you'd measure it for me? If it isn't too much to ask

I don't know why, but those trims make your wheels look tiny... maybe it's the angle of the pic? Nice cheap way to keep the wheels clean though.

A better picture I also found this in the yard, with a weber carb on it, which I removed to add to my stash.

Yes, it was North Weald.
There are loads of old cars at Kirby's, do you have anything in mind?

Anyone who has been following my Lada perils will know I have had some trouble Alternator stopped charging, battery light would not illuminate. Tried 2 more alternators, and another battery to no avail. I resigned myself to having to get an expert on the case. In one last throw of the dice, I fitted the original alternator back on and fitted a new belt I had lying around. Started it up, and the same symptoms were there. Oh well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Today I had to run to the tip, to get rid of ssome garden waste. I started it up, with a fully charged battery, and vowed not to use many electrical items to conserve power. The guage was in the white section, between 11/12v. I drove to the tip and back, and by the time I got back, the dials read as you can see. I turned off the engine, then turned the ignition on.... Battery light working! Wierd. I'm scared of my car now. It fixes itself!

Be warned - it'll unfix itself just when you're in a hurry to get somewhere! You must have a dodgy connection in the charging circuit, my guess is at the light itself.

Yeah, agreed. Funnily enough, my stereo has been a bit dodgy lately too, turning itself on or off when I go over bumps. A short circuit there wouldn't do it would it?

Its not impossible, all sorts of freak outcomes can result from shonky wiring behind the dashboard! I bet theres a link!

I will add that the radio was wired in by the previous owner's blind monkey, and the shoddy efforts continue all the way up to the ignition switch.
