This is awesome, totally sums up the "everything has potential" ethos that makes this forum so interesting. Err... What's going on with the Fiestas in the background? Or do we not want to know?

I think it looks better with black steels in the pictures than in real life.

I prefer it on black steels. I reckon having the steels banded & painted silver would be pretty nice. I think it would look even better without the Hoosier stickers & the avoiding pothole sticker... Less is more.

I was trying to figure out if I prefered the steels to the moons and I came to the conclusion I like both options equally because they give the car two different looks. When do we see a properly badgeless grille on the front?

Much as I like the look of the car with the higher profile rear tyres, they do nothing for the handling! So, temporarily fitted the Lupo steels I have to the back, with 15mm spacers. Doesn't look as good, but handles better and the lower profile gives the illusion of faster acceleration.

Less is more. I really like the stickers; but +1 for the steels - banded and black ftw. This car just sums up why retro cars are cool... It shows that with the right touches, a joke from last decade can be very cool today!

isn't it funny how things change, back in the day a mate of mine had a few of these he used to buy them new and trade them in every 3 years for a new one. I always hated them but now I really like them. yours looks really tidy in all their boxy goodness lol, i'm lovin it. I'd love to get hold of one now.

So much better with all the stickers gone. Looks totally badass though! You should band the steels then put the moondiscs back on! Will look awesome.

Is the spoiler a original lada one? Yes, but it would not have been fitted to this model. It was reserved for the 1600 and 1300 SL/SLX models which were phased out when Cats became mandatory. Lada streamlined their range to the 1500E Saloon and Estate. The previous owner has drilled holes to fit the spoiler, so I can't really remove it.

That is looking the best it has ever looked now IMO. I really like the black steels but for once I don't know about banding them? I'm not convinced banded rims would suit the boxy lines of the Lada? Can I suggest 5 1/2" wide Polo/Lupo steels (in black of course) with 175/60 tyres alround? Looks really cool lowered with the tucked rims. Count's Lada FTW! Edit. Doh, I see you already have the Polo/Lupo steels on the back! Get a pair on the front with the suggested tyres and it's sorted!
