I've always had a curious affection for the Ital!
Best of luck with your project. Do the Maestro/Montego alloys just bolt on? I know they share the same PCD, but I'd always assumed the studs would have to be changed.
Does this mean the Ambassador might be looking for a new home?!

a very nice car; i still have a soft spot for Marinas/Itals, the wheels suit the car very well ! The center console looks like it was designed for a LHD car though .... how do these drive ?

Yes Same PCD but no they don't bolt straight on, quite a pain actually first i had to buy spacers then i bought 2 sets of bolts both which were wrong in some way, i finally got a 3rd set which fitted the smaller stud threads (same as mini's) and were just wide enough to hold the wheels on. would still live to secure yet another set which are wider for added sense of security. Does this mean the Ambassador might be looking for a new home?! Hell no! ive spent upwards of £3K on that car , she's a keeper! in fact i recently got a new set of alloys and tyres for her and did a general tidy up (rust) in July, i took a fresh set of pictures i think i'll post them up for the hell of it as she is looking super sexy now

Yes the centre console is quite bizarre, the cd player is angled away from the driver LOL well after driving around in a Prelude for a few months i had been spoiled so when i first drove the Ital my first thought was "Archaic" lol but i got used to it and its fun to drive, it made a change to drive a manuel too after a string of automatic cars i'd been driving for almost a year

Drove her last night to the garage to sort the air out in tyres, on way home the car feels so much better on the 15" monty alloys, only bad bit is i cant turn full circle without them rubbing must be something to do with your lowering nick?

This is sweet, got so much potential! Any other plans? At the moment main aim has been just to clean her right up and put new black interior in. My budget doesent stretch to much more and i am going to be busy at college from the 20th so will have to forget about cars for almost a year

Needs the back end lowering with some lowering blocks to match the front, but I'm liking the wheel choice.

I had to trim the corners of the front wings to clear the ones on my Ital when I went 15". Deffo makes the handling better, though sticking 175/55's on 13" rims has the same effect (for the size of car they are terribly under-tyred)

That looks lovely - could do with losing a bit of height at the rear though!

That looks lovely - could do with losing a bit of height at the rear though! or i might do the opposite and raise the front back up since the ride quality is totally ruined by it being like that (i dident lower it previous owner did) , you cant even listen to a cd properly it skips too much! and speed humps are a nightmare!

I vote for drop the rear. Front looks great at that height.

Oh and have the bump stops been trimmed down on the front? I can remember when lowering Minors that you could regain some ride quality by chopping the bump stop in half if you dropped it by more than 2 splines.
