Dude this seriously is awesome, ive aways been under the pretences that capris don't handle too good!
As for using the nissan engine ingenious! makes me want a capri!! this whole thread has made this conversion look so easy! Was it?
how are you going to sort out the handling then? I'm seriously watching this thread! very interested in capri's now... lol.

cheers mate capri's arent as bad as people make out, v6 models undeersteer a bit, but with a lighter engine they are pretty decent, i have uprated springs up front -2" 190Ib and 2.8i single leafs and shocks, polybushed all round, i plan to fit some anti-tramp bars to the rear, uprated front shocks and make up a double ARB for the front end  the engine swap hasn't been all that easy tbh, but its not been as bad as i had thought really |

cheeta mate! been a while since an update so here we go: had a missfire so i have been tryin to solve that, wondered if it might be the original pressure reg going funny as it seemed like a fueling problem, so fitted an external reg  this didnt help, but i noticed some oil round the head gasket, curse word!! so, off with its head! turns out the "correct head gasket" was wrong, blocked off an oil feed! so was pushin oil out of the head down the block ¬¬  so, while the head was off, it was all stripped and off for a skim    then re-fitted  sadly, no difference, so i opted to get shut of the external swirl pot and got hold of a 2.8i tank and fabbed up a simple carrier   still no different, so i stipped down the inlet sound of things and found a missing seal on an injector! so while it was in bits i replaced all the injectors and all the gaskets i could find!   now its a LOT better but there is an annoying rattle! its not big ends and it only happens at odd times, when you let off at mid revs, other than that it doesnt do it! so i need to sort that before i can properly drive it... |
