engine bay welding done, just needs some grinding and painting battery tray, front crossmember and inner wing battery tray shortened to give room for rad passenger side inner wing drivers side inner wing

head off today with the help of Nick and Tim (for a bit at least till he buggered off, lol) ready for gettin the stud machined out its a bit coked up but its in a good condition otherwise! will give it a damn good clean and will check the fuel/air mix when i get it up and running again happy with it tbh

its been a while since i updated here, if anyones reading here you go got the manifold stud out, eventually, tried a few engineering places local, none would touch it because of the snapped stud extractor (stupid previous owner!) and then i got sent the wrong replacement manifold studs, so that all put the project back a week! anyways, while the head was off i fitted the FMIC and rad and painted the engine blue, after i got the head back i cleaned it up fitted a new head gasket and then fitted new big end bearings inlet and exhaust/turbo back on and back in the bay! then blasted the cam covers primer (incl timing belt cover) paint

Been following this on here and on Capri Power. Any chance of throwing up a couple of pictures of your new engine and gearbox mounts? Checking how much work it is before I start buying engines lol

well a few updates, had it turnin over after stripping 90% of the SX loom to end up with about 10 wires, if that! (worlds shortest vid) but its signs of life!! crossmember done and finally back on its wheels and today i sorted out the clutch pedal, used the SX pedal with a bit of modding hope to have it running 2moro once i have finished off the fuel lines

thanks mate, hopefully be some vids soon been workin on it today, fitted the fuel lines and swirl pot tried startin the engine, it coughs into life a bit and then dies, i need to connect up all the hoses properly and hopefully it will start then

thank you very much they are originally Mondeo Steels, banded locally by a lad in Liverpool bit of an update IT RUNS!!! rough as hell, but its a start! and a pic of the nice rocker covers fitted next up, wiring, touch up under the engine bay, exhaust, proper intercooler pipes, gauges, gear box tunnel...still a lot to do really, but its gettin there

That looks so nice, very smart!..apart from all that wiring gives me the shudders! Getting so close now, keep at it ;D
