This is the story of my Resto, will do my best to get it all in and in some form of order, hope you make it to the end!! haha
This is the car when I first got it, complete with yellowed paint, rust holes, poorly painted alloys, badly fitted fibreglass wings and torn and battered interior
The first thing I did was paint the grill and surrounds black, I just think it looks harder!
I then made a new shelf as the old one was goosed, just MDF covered in black speaker box material
I then decided the back looked a bit bland and "modern" for my liking
So I ordered some black/white "show plates" *ah hem* and got out the satin black
I then had the interior re-trimmed in full leather, just laser seats, as I think they are really comfy, more so than recaros, and with the new foam padding they are even more comfy
got bored of the badged grill so I made a debadged one
at this point the tired old 2.0 decided to blow up on me
so in with a tuned 2.1 and a Peter Lloyed exhaust system
then not a lot happened as I had to save up again for a re-spray
the before pics and close ups of work needed
stripped down and fibreglass wings binned
bonnet ground down (quite a few holes)
the reason my offside headlight earth didnt work
nearside rear arch (marc grindin)
and all cut out
inner wings (pretty solid only couple of small holes)
I got bored with no car to play with, so took some trim home to paint up
bonnet repairs (and lots of them)
and some pics of the sill, door and arch repairs

]and now painted in Ford Frozen White (hence the name “The Frozen Capri”
more pics after a polish, even if I did miss some oily finger marks above the exhaust :roll:
couple of little tweeks
firstly I sorted out the front plate, got some L brackets from Homebase and bent them basically, worked well too!!
then tinted the rear lights, which look much better!
and got shut of the rusty screws with summert a little different!
some nice blue dash lights that actually WORK!!!

some Lucas indicator bulb holders
drill holes in my lights
mount indicators with washers to seal them
and then lit
I goosed the cam followers a bit, so these got replaced
then, sad times, only a few months after the respray too, some t**t does this in a car park!!
after goin back to paint again!
fitted a multi adapter for the cig ligher, I disconnected the original socket and cut the plug off the adapter drilled a hole in the inside of my glove box to feed the wire through, fitted blade connecters to plug into the original connector for the power and also fed through a AUX cable so I can plug my MP3 player in without having a cable layin about and fed through the power cable for my satnav too
so now I can plug in my MP3 player, phone charger and MP3 charger all at once, the best bit is the multi adapter has a switch on it so I can turn it off when I am not using it
the adapter is mounted in the glove box

also relocated my fire extinguisher, back of the glove box probably wasnt the best place for it
me, Nick and Tim (mostly Tim) fitted my side exit today
and after goin through another set of cam followers I went the whole hog n ordered a new Newman Ultimate Torque cam
Carbride padded cam followers and double valve springs
chrome moly spring cups
and the Newman Ultimate Torque Cam itself
new sunroof seel
and a nice minty fresh headlining (which I got grubby fingerprints all over so I will have to clean)
well I got bored of the side exit, so me and nick set about my exhaust
Side exit is now gone
no backboxes either
I have gone with a hidden system
sorry the pics are dark, stupid winter!!
there have been other upgrades without pics too, incl 2.8i rear suspension setup all polly bushed and a front strut brace
well I was gettin bored of the all black dash and I don't really like white dials, not my cup o tea, so decided to try summert a little differentall masked upin paintall painted and unmaskedand fitted
rear screen louvre and RGA rear spoiler
next up are bike carbs!

the ports have been nicely smoothed down to give a bit better flow
in filler primer

vacuum plumbed in on the carbs
and carbs mounted, I used more clips than normal but as they came in a pack of 12 I figured the more the better
took a lot of pissin about to get runnin right, petrol comin out the fronts etc etc had em on and off about 4 times!!!!
one word of advice to anyone thinkin of goin down this rout, GET CARBS YOU KNOW WORK!!!!!! bits are bloody expensive!!!
anyways, a few pics
banded steels are the future!! 15x8 on the front running 195/50 and 15x9.5 running 205/50 rear
