How the f**k were either of those cars classed as 'bangers'? People's perceptions these days are on the curse word.

Well, the term "banger" was used to class anything that cost less than £250, in fairness, bar a half decent paintjob (or bright orange tape) they were rather shabby... Still managed 2000+ miles though ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Lowering works with some banded steels , thought about the rwd thing but to much work and to many pennies , paint not a problem but deciding on colour is , could be a usual TWT estate and get covered with flake ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Simples - Apply the RR equation: Car + wheels - ride height = WIN ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

(car+wheels)-rideheight=WIN

I've got a 406TD Estate as well that i'm stuck for ideas with. I'm looking for a budget set of rims for it though.

When i had mine i always wanted to drop it and find some 17" steels to band out.
But the thing is that makes it impractical, without being that cool or interesting, so i never bothered :-)

Usual formula applies...wheels 'n' drop FTW. Aren't they 4x108? It's a good colour to start with too...I reckon a set of black and silver 17" rims and a lowering job would transform it.

I tried photoshoping it, but couldn't get it to look how I wanted it to. Lowered in a set of 16/17 something like these: ![](http://www.japanesenostalgiccar.com/forum/pics/rims/compomotive.jpg) would look good IMO, can't see what else you could do without making it look a bit curse word or without spending lots of money.

The cheaper the better, currently off sick, and have been for 3 months so cash is a bit tight. PM me with what you may have.

Sell it in parts?
As said before cut the coils, put some 16" steels from Mondeo. C5, 407 and happy rolling.
