single beds, so no need for a "The vans a rockin, so don't come a knockin" sticker......
Ha, well on the odd occasion It'll be a U shaped bench area that can be made into a full size bed using the table, but wanted to keep a walkway in the middle with drawers under the benches. Otherwise I'd just chuck a double mattress in and be done with it!!
Pod building! So, I had a plan, bought a load of wood and got stuck in!
But, i fitting the base it became apparent that when I redid the pickup bed, I'd introduced a curve to the floor and the pod frame would end up bending over the 'peak' in the middle. Nothing for it but to rip it back off and redo it. This also gives me a chance to fit the floor properly and to put in a more permanent engine cover (other than a piece of wood!
I've ordered a new chop saw to get better cuts in the steel and then I can finish off the trap door! I also took the opportunity to get back into the bed and figure out the storage once a for all. I've cut down the original drawer set and made a lid so that it can be used to store all of the normal camping plop like chairs, windbreak etc, as well as the 2 ring cooker, gas bottle and a small water tank (though this may well end up somewhere else as mounting in proving to be a bit of a PITA!
Bit of skateboard tape to act as friction! Hopefully it'll stop everything flying around
The new design also means I can use the drawer as a base for the cooker
In other news, I'd bought a set of Vito steels to replace the rough ones that are currently fitted. They've been stripped, resprayed and fitted with the old tyres from my Freelander as they're smaller and I wanted to see what they'd look like.
Yesterday I finally got round to fitting them..... Well, schoolboy errors abound Clearly, they're not the same, and without massive spacers they won't be fitting on a T3 (ET60). S0 now I've got a set of Merc steels to add to the collection of wheels that don't fit on my T3
If anyone wants a set of 5x112, 6 1/2 x 16, ET60 Mercedes steel wheels with tyres (with about 2mm of tread) let me know
