I know the last 2 owners of this car. Years ago when it was last on the road it ran gun metal grey OZ multi spokes for the definitive touring car look.
If i recall this is possibly the only 90Q in the uk that was in the yellow colour! Or certainly one of a handful. Plus, its one of the rarer 90Q's with ABS, which is a bit of a bragging point in audi groups.
I think thats right anyways lol.
Good to see the car being repaired and potentially used!

It's only ever had 2 registered owners (the guy I bought it off never registered it by the looks of things) so which one of those scumbags decided to repair the entire car with filler? I'll kill them! It's got ABS? I hate ABS! That may have to go in the bin... I couldn't really have picked much of a rarer car to 'destroy' here

You can see it in the background All the "welded up a hole, neatened it up, started again" is incredibly tedious to do, nevermind read about

I am indeed, I'm not a fan of the big ones they're too curvy for the shape of the car. Need to find a foglight for the front bumper though, then they're going to be the indicators because I don't really like the 80 lights and can't be arsed to find a proper 90 small bumper with indicators in it

Great car, I'm going to keep an eye on this as it should be the same chassis (more or less) as my B2 Passat and I would not mind looking at all the quattro bits for future reference.

thought you were putting an s2 engine in? not that much hp increase with the 2.3 20v n/a engine. 136 kv - 168 7a(?)... alot of messing about for 30 odd hp.
and they don't handle well at all. i should know, i took mine on a half trackday round croft on standard suspension!
don't quite understand how yours has got so rusty? mine was a helious blue sort of colour and it was really solid!

Can't afford an S2 lump unfortunately! The 20v will hopefully be a lot more lively top end than the 10v, basically the same as golf 8v/16v engines with an extra cylinder and the 16v is 10x better than the 8v imo even though that's only 30ish bhp between them! I will be squeezing a bit more out of it though. It's got lowered suspension on it, which I guess should be alright for now, not going to help matters when I chop a coil or 2 off though I'm sure! I've not really ever even heard of one being totally solid, all Type 85's go on that A pillar area behind the wing from what I've seen. The rest I agree was some pretty excessive cosmetic rot... It's got that bad because it hasn't moved or been washed I guess for the last 6 years, just sat outside. On the plus side this also means there's not a spot of rust underneath and it's only done 105k miles

I always liked 8v golfs tbh! lol. but then ive never owned a 16v, have driven 1 tho. didnt seem much faster to me and the engine was noisy. valve train seemed really rattly? ah the 85 I had had always been in daily or near daily use. wasnt rotten on that a pillar bit. had some scabs on the doors in places but not a hole in sight, was a really nice car tbh. had it for nearly a year, swapped it (with a chap in leeds) for a nice mk2 golf gtd with gti bits and bobs on it. only got 1 picture of it. was like 5 years ago! i wonder if its still on the road??

I'll keep an eye out for it, there aren't that many about so I'll probably come across it And whatever I end up with, it'll have at least 4 valves per cylinder, I just can't get on with 2 valves, they always feel asthmatic when they have no top end whatsoever!

I'll update this while I'm here too then Since the above, I thought I'd take it for an MOT to establish what actually needs doing. Kinda surprised, it only failed on bushes and headlight aim really! So I obviously had to change the bushes, so I thought I may aswell drop the subframe and do the lot, then I thought since the subframe's out I may aswell take the engine out too. I'm now halfway through putting the 20v in! Just waiting for my flywheel to come back from being lightened and it's all set to go in, with added black engine bay, black engine and black flocked inlet manifold and rocker cover! Phone's packed up though so I can't take pictures at the minute so I'll take some as soon as I can
