Don't paint yours nato green though, it would look much better in it's standard colour, more like a sleeper. Oh yeah definitely more sleeper, but I don't want to drive a car that looks like total sh*t Don't go with the NATO green then! Seriously chap, leave as is and refresh the existing colour.

The existing colour is absolutely awful, I hate it, It's not staying yellow.

Mango Yellow is supposed to be rare as poor quality wobbly children's play pony sh*t (for a reason, clearly) too, shame I'm going to be roller painting it Nato Green really ;D Can't recall seeing any Audi in that colour - i thought it was an aftermarket job you had there - but all seems genuine

LY1E - Mango Yellow To keep it that colour after I've patched all the sh*t bits up I'd have to respray pretty much the whole car in a colour I hate!

While I can see the merit of keeping cars - especially rarer combinations like yours - in their stock configuration I don't think any owner should be forced by that to do something against their own tastes. If you'd rather paint it in Nato Green then do so, it's your car. You'll upset anyone that knows about the rarity of the colour but really, it's just paint and it's not their car.

Jees - where was that living before you started tackling it, in a river or by the sea..
looks pretty rotten, and fairly low mileage too
Good work saving the beast tho, fair play..
I'd have thought the tunnel would have been bigger for the drive to the rears and exhaust.. Interesting to not then, future plans for the tana could be quattro power, i think they share the floorplan anyway

WTF is going on in that gif!!! Is that you at work? My previous project - twin 16v engined mk2 golf, fire brigade had to come out for that I don't think any owner should be forced by that to do something against their own tastes. If you'd rather paint it in Nato Green then do so, it's your car. Don't worry, I bought the paint today, I'm not going to respray the car is 'p*ss stained gusset' yellow Jees - where was that living before you started tackling it, in a river or by the sea.. future plans for the tana could be quattro power, I think they share the floorplan anyway It's spent the last few years in Bolton and Preston, it's all in really concentrated patches though, it looks solid underneath (not really been under it properly yet, ignorance is bliss for now...) Same engines aren't they, the 5 pot 10v? Mounted the right way round too?

Yeah, same 5pot, 10v engines.. just mines FWD and a slush box.. 4wd and manual would be awesome, then I'd want to turbo it Keen to see how you progress with this, going to be an awesome car..

I really like this, i don't normally like yellow cars but for some reason it works well with this IMO. Id totally keep it as is, Nato Green has been done to death and usually looks curse word but its your car!

the yellow will probably look a million times better when its freshly painted remember you're looking at 25 yr old paint that hasnt even seen a lick of polish in a looooonnng time..

I'm really trying my hardest not to beat the sh*t out of this piece of curse word with a hammer, for every hole I patch up I find 2 more... Except today where I found about 6 more Finished off the C pillar area - Thought I'd get on with the wing, which turns out is another f*cking panel made of f*cking filler, I hope I never meet whoever decided making a whole car out of filler was a good idea Almost an hour later So I thought I'd try my rear small bumper on to lighten myself up a bit, where I discovered the chrome strip that goes just above it had caused 5 holes around the studs it mounts to ffs, more patching up! And also the bracket that holds it on the side has gone through, and I found an extra 2 holes in the boot floor I didn't know about I've started painting it though, which was less aggravating... Hopefully getting an engine donor in the next week or so... Watch this space!

I like the yellow and I like the green, two completely different colours that both suit this car (see me sit on the fence!).
As least as you patch up all those holes you know it's been done right, far better to discover and fix them now than to discover the filler at the MoT station. I reckon you're doing a pretty decent job on this one.
