Volvo 340/360 for the mod-on-the-day car. We can easily get wheels (4x100), NATO, slam it... I know I'm not the only graff type on here so stencils would be cool...As would a Retro-Rides Police Department cruiser... I'm getting all excited now! *n Well hopefully the Rocco will be finished by C.A.R.S so we'll already have the Retro-Rides Police Department cruiser ;D ;D

RIGHT THEN!!!..... I've started working up a proper project plan for this 1-day make-over.... I'll post it up later / tomorrow am for your digestion. There's alot to organise & it's gonna be tough - but i reckon, as ben kingsley said.... preparation, preparation, preparation.... & we'll pull it off. Like Lewis's idea re. sound system. However, all being well we should have something that will pwn a 100-watt separates system....

I'm up for juggling a few spanners around for a few hours. We'll have to get it all planned out before hand though and make sure we cover every possible disaster along the way. I think its probably best to stick to simple lowering and body mods rather than trying to pull off an engine change. Theres too much that can go wrong. What you need to do is find a car thats totally left of field and overlooked and turn it into a little stunner.

OK, ultimate suggestion. White RR overalls for the blokes modding the car. White RR T-Shirts for the cheerleaders (you do have cheerleaders right) tied up at the front. RR logo on front, and a play on the Foose logo on the backs. What does anyone think? Real overhaulin uniform theme?

Ive got a tiny compressor and spray gun, its an all in one type of thing. I sprayed my first mini with it so its a winner! paint will be cheaper than rattle cans and look better!
What about one of these bedford/astra style vans that have been popular in the Ebay threads - springs all round so easy to cut, 4x100 pcd and we could have it sign written with the RR logo!

it all sounds good to me racer's astra van idea sounds great. i think it'd be really good if the project car was sold off afterwards and the money went to charity. if everyone on the forum chipped in hopefully we could cover the costs of buying it and modding it and then also give some money to charity.

i can see how this will go, and we'll end up spending the whole day on it - but I'm happy to do that. if we go for a matt black and want some writing on it I'm happy to ask my mate to chip in. He would more than likely be joining me, and he did this on Tasha's racecar

Okay lets move the RR-CASR-Car to another thread then to discuss further. I've been thinking about the stand... I reckon we could the the boulavard, I don't think we'll get enough space from CARS organisers to have an entire section to ourselves, and I also think the gap between stands that are opposite each other is going to be too wide to make if feel like the cars are associated with each other. So I reckon we could do a boulavard within the space of the stand... have it just over a cars width wide so if anyone is leaving a bit earlier they can.. We can get it so there is an entrance and an exit and people can walk through and check the cars out... Maybe if we put the car mashing up at the centre of the stand the only way people can get to it is if they walk through the cars

While driving home last night I had the stupid idea that maybe my Laurel would be a candidate for the 1-day project? It's on the road and in reguar use at the moment, but MoT expires in October and I doubt I'll be putting it through again. So long as it was kept roadworthy and the bits I want off it afterwards when it gets broken aren't trashed then there's an option for you.
For anyone not familiar with it, it's same as the green C-plate one 500tops posted in the eBay thread, and there should be a pic of it in Reader's Rides.

i agree with hotwire, might be hard to keep the cars looking associated, but i think a fence down either side of the boulevard to keep it so people have to walk in one end, through the cars, / down the middle, and out again is a good idea - what about an electric fence.... lol, or chequred tape? or maybe those huge contrctuion site fences with loads of retro tat hanging on it, but i think that might look pretty un welcomeing.
