Nice - I thought about an open-ended avenue of motors, all facing inwards and angled...Kind of a R-R boulevard.
We already have the banners to hoist them up on poles at either end of it...

Sheesh Hotwire - that would take some marking out!!!
Would look very cool if it worked out OK tho
The big problem with lining up cars is that most cars are diffent lengths so you never get a straight line at one end or the other.........
The other issue with parking cars in lines is it's nice to have a bit of space between each one so idiots don't scratch the paint walikng thro
For the circle thing to work
Long bit of rope and a couple of cans of grey primer
Stake in the centre
Mark out the distance
Walk round with the rope in your hand and spray the line on the floor
Park the cars as they arrive front wheels on the line facing in or out

IIRC last year, there wouldn't really have been the room to park the cars in a circular formation. ? ?

as opposed to leaving space, we could park them up real tight to intentionally stop people walking around them - they could then walk around the cars themselves as a group, but not round individual cars.
i like your lineup hotwire, and also the idea of a boulevard.

Yeah its not difficult to get one of those gazeebo things. Infact last year Costco had some really big ones in for not much cash. Look on Ebay, i bought a 3m x 2m i think it was, off Ebay last year for £10 + postage. It may be available to use this year if the club (S.K.O.D.A.S) is not using it.

I like Penski's idea of a boulevard. Can you imagine what it'll be like with 70 cars though. We should get everybodies wrecks together and have a "boulevard of broken dreams" . Sorry it amused me.

boulevard sounds good, how many cars are you expecting? the stand is going to be seen from space!
liking the flag idea! lots and lots of flags! so it can be seen from anywhere on the site!
definatly need somwhere to gather, sit, bbq, beer, disco lights, etc etc lol with a bundle of leaflets for people to take away.
what about a 1/4 time board for RR members who want to race... who is the fastest retro rider?
And a standard RR sheet for the people who have modified cars and want to put somthing on the screen with the specs. (kind of like the top trumps), if it was available on here somwhere we could fill them all out before hand.

hotwire, have you seen the 'flags' the restowagen boys had made up? ok, its not strictly a flag but i cant think of a better way to describe it
i like the idea of a 1/4 time board. we need our very own jeremy clarkson. We could get a mike and interview each other afterwards too lmfao
man, we could really take over this show if we chose to!

the people's champion voting booth of justice.
Members of joe public can vote for their fave car of RR... by writing down the reg & popping in a 'ballot box'.
At the end of the day the winner gets a mars bar or other less rubbish prize....

1/4 mile time board will have to be done.
I felt the stand didn't have a centre last year.. we need to make more use of some kind of gathering area for sure.
RR awards may have to be done as well.
I've got the banners from last year,.. not sure how to rig them up into flags at the moment...

Suggest a hand-picked 'team' of experts to prevent broth-spoiling And get them all wearing a variation on the "Foose" logo. I'll upload it later.

How about having a normal stand but try to retro-fy it as much as poss. Get people to bring their choppers, wear their aviators and period jackets, fill up the cars with assorted retro tat such as space hoppers and traffic light air fresheners.

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.
